Money is not evil, nor is it the root of evil. Rather people's desire to aquire money are what lead to evil. Money is just a tool, like a hammer or a gun, useless by itself. It must be used by a person to do something, wether that something is of benifit or detriment is made according to its user.

Sure a gun without a person would be harmless but a person without a gun can be just as harmless.

Without the money the person probably would not be evil

Right, I mean who ever heard of strangulation or breaking bones or twisting off necks? That kind of stuff could never happen as it does not exist. Oh and martial arts? Stuff of fiction, no one is able to use their bare hands to do anything at all, like writing this;)

money is basically a universally transferable method of trade. back ago people would grow their crops, now they grow food to trade for live stock. however the people with the live stock do not need crops so the people with the crops get no live stock. however, if the people with the crops sold their crops to someone for money, they could then buy live stock with the money which the people with the live stock could use. this is a basic example of how money allows things to be traded indirectly. this is the role of money, its root. obviously it is not evil, nor was it designed for any such purpose. greed is evil. money can give rise to greed. however, greed in a sense does not exit if a person is working for it. to say bill gates is evil because he is rich is stupid. to say the person who steals money is evil can be justified i suppose. the point is money is not evil, without it people would spend ages trying to find someone willing to trade their crops.

greed for money, for food, for anything is what you mean.

What the hell are you talking about poison? Have you ever opened a bottle cap? Well congrats dude, you know how to break a persons neck and you just proved you have the strength for it too. Ever hold a pen? Takes that amount of strength to strange someone.

People have had their hands as weapons since they were living in tree tops flinging their feces at each other, people have been killing each other since they started to walk with two legs. Guns do not kill people, people kill people pure and simple. Guns are a means of death, just like shoe laces and plastic bags, it takes a human operator to fire a gun (unless it is Mighty Megatron) as it cannot fire itself.

To further what Dan is saying; imagine how well a person whose specialty is basket weaving could survive in a trade economy. All they do is make baskets, how can they get food after the farmers get those baskets?

Money allows people to specialize and grow diverse, which allows technology to advance. Imagine how stagnant we would be if every guy had to daily go out and hunt for food for 10 hours while women and children farmed for 14 hours everyday of every month year after year. Money is not evil, it is pure genius, it is the pursuit of money that leads to what some might call evil.
