Modern Lumbermill

This bundle is marked as pending. It has not been reviewed by a staff member yet.
Hello.
I made a modern-ish lumbermill building last year for @FlameofChange 's project and I upload it here for public use.

And if you have questions about the model, feel free to contact me.
I used Milkshape3D, Oinkerwikle's tool, notepad++, various RMS builds and War3Model Editor for creation of the model.

The model uses a custom 'birthlink' model.
The path is BuildUp_Modern_Medium_10x10.mdx. The model is included in the download.

Have fun with the models!
Constructive comments and fair ratings are always welcome.

There is an incredible use of textures, starting from grates, drains and roof, ending with walls, very believeable. It's also amazing how succinctly the whole complexity of the building fits into such a small scale, how assembled the whole building looks from the technical side, good job! BuildUpModerMedium is a worthy and useful part of Frank's modeling legacy for other modern style focused modelers.

Only the windows can be subject to slight criticism on my part, namely their flickering, because it seems to me that this animation is already quite brightly designed, especially with the help of such a successfully used technique as a rotating red flashing signal 🚨

Really lovely, quite impressive and obviously useful in a variety of maps.

I think my only critique would be that the Stand Work, while exciting, is a little too exciting lol; you've got:
  • the log/conveyor belt (both moving in/out & up/down)
  • the saw (both spinning & moving up/down)
  • two regular smokestacks
  • one smokestack with fan
  • one steam vent
  • the spinning red alarm light
  • the lights coming from the side bay door, and
  • every window lighting up

You may want to consider toning it down a bit. 😅

I like it that way though and the person who commissioned it was also fond of it.
Sorry.

Also, my own taste and opinion. If you don't respect it then we have no business talking about it. Easy as that.
I don't think there was any suggestion of disrespect on Khyrbs' part, in fact his comment expresses the opposite and a deference for the fact that it is a commission and the commissioner prefers it this way. Suggestions and opinions should always be welcome as long as they're expressed in a constructive and friendly way just as Khyrbs' did.

I just wanted to make sure, because people can take it out of context.
I did not intent to sound like a dick there.

Ah. I'm glad to hear that... I was rather surprised at your initial response to my post, especially since you have "Constructive comments ... are always welcome." in bold yellow text in your description (& I think my comment was, like Villagerino's, definitely "constructive critique").

It's a great model, and I'm glad FoC was game for a public release.

For me your comment was more like a very slanted opinion piece.
Tell someone to '[considering toning] it down' i really based on your personal preference and not some mechanical or technical observation.

However I do see value in what you say - but that does not mean I am going to follow it.
But let us move on from this.

Screams "industrial" but still not too modern to be unfitting for default Warcraft 3 setting. Very well designed, feels memorable despite being just a mill, has details in the very right places and this juicy feeling of being a refined, balanced and maturely made asset.

Great job for both of you, guys.
