I wanted this model in my map. (see attached)
    It has very simple animations.
but for some reason they do not work in Magos editor.
As soon as it plays anything besides "unanimated" the whole thing disappears.
    What gives?

I just check it out and the problem is your texture. In magos use the mpq browser and use a texture through there, then it will work fine.

I tried that and it still did not work. It continues to disappear whenever you play an animation. Also, I want it to use replaceable texture 11. That is the terrain texture of whatever tileset the map is using.

You have to attach a specific texture to it, not the one your using atm. So you'd have different models for the terrain types you want.

Its not the texture. It is using replaceable texture 11 which is the terrain texture used by the tileset. If you import the model into the world editor, it will match any tileset you use it on. The problem is I can not get it to play the animations.
It has 3 animations. stand 0 - 2, death 2 - 1002, and, birth 1002-2002. Problem is, it will only show the end of these animations. When it stands it works fine, but when it plays death it jumps to frame 1002 and seems to stick there, with birth it goes to 2002.
    Here is an updated model.

I'd say your problem is that the sequences are overlapping. Try this and see if it works.
