Mini Guide on How to: Alpha Texture

This tutorial helps you to make an alpha texture, it means that some part of the texture is transparent. Follow the steps and you'll get to make it.

Step 1

Okay , I'll be using this picture for this guide

Step 2

Use any selection tool you like , but magic wand tool is the best ...
Select the area you want to get the transparent effect

Step 3

Go to "Channel" and click "save selection as channel"

Step 4

Double click the alpha made and click "Selection"

Step 5

Select all layers and save as .tga then convert to .blp

Your screenshots are kinda crap. I'd suggest you make them higher quality or resize them in a better program.

The actual picture size is bigger, it drags the screen.. So should I use the bigger one or what?

I'd resize them in photoshop or something so they'll still be readable. Right now it's kinda hard to see what exactly is going on in some of the screenshots.

"Go Advanced" (Alt+X) then click "Manage Attachments" then upload them.
Click the paperclip and then the picture and it will automaticly place it.
