Metro 2033

Finished the game today, damn it's short? Only took me like 8 hours or so.

Anyway, anyone else thought it was a good game?

For those who don't know...

I'm tossing about buying the game, but I don't know if it'd be worth it.

Can you say perhaps, is it in general aspects similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., or that was just a rumor regarding the previews?

Gameplay-wise it's not like stalker at all. It reminded me more of Call of Duty but then with a lot more realism, atmosphere and not so redicioulsy overexaggerated movie-like scenes.

ATMOSPHERIC must be written in caps btw =p

Oh and euh, it costs like 45 euros here. I find that quite expensive for a ~ 8 hour lasting game...

I'm playing Basementdweller 2033, it's quite good, but I think STALKER lasts longer than 8 hours. I was stuck at some parts though, especially at the Depot level, where you magically fall through the ground somewhere.

Didn't notice that, i used to fall off things sometimes lol. Just looking forward and then suddenly a tile is missing somewhere and there i go xD

The same goes with those bloody traps =p

BTW, it pisses me off how people keep comparing this game with stalker and fallout. Metro's game universe is much more convincing than those two.

There are some odd pathing issues in the Library, I believe the Librarian is able to launch me to the second floor. xO

It doesn't exactly help that Metro 2033 was developed by people who used to be part of STALKER development team.

I actually haven't looked much into it, just seen a preview. I decided that Russian Spetsnaz+Zombies=Win. Might actually buy it if the price lowers.

But there are communists too.

And nazi's.

I don't know how you people use to play these kind of things but i've had no issues whatsoever with anything.

I'm also not talking about the people who made it i'm talking about the actual game universe.

And it's pretty clear to me only a PART of the previous Stalker team worked on it because this actually WAS released on time.

They aint Spetsnaz's, they are underground tube-STALKERS.

The equipment they're using pretty much point to Spetsnaz origins, note the helmet design with the Russian NVG combo, and the AKMS with the PSO-1 or whatever it is.

Just seen a trailer, duh.
