Actually Christmas is a pagan holiday, so, TheKurt009, you're wrong. The only Christian about Christmas is the name and that instead of revolving around the fact that the days keep getting brighter and brighter it's now about Jesus. Oh, and now the celebration is shorter than it used to be. Most atheist celebrate Winter Solstice (yeah, that's the real name), except the ones deceived into believing it's a holiday for Christians.

Also, a little religious trivia: (For Christians) Christmas is simply celebrating the birth of Jesus. Christmas is not the actual date of Jesus' birth, it was moved to December 25th to avoid conflict with other celebrations. [Source]

A few info about Christmas:
Literally Christ-Mass, the liturgical commemoration of the birth of Christ. There is evidence of its observance on 25 December at Rome by the early 4th cent. There is no evidence to support the theory that this was the actual birth-date of Christ. The choice was rather dictated by well-established pagan celebrations on that day. Many of the features of modern Christmas, such as Christmas trees, cards, and boxes, are Victorian rather than earlier.

Christmas has a complex and much debated history. There is no scriptural clue to the date of Christ's birth; the Early Church celebrated it (if at all) on 6 January, and the first document setting it on 25 December is a Roman calendar of AD 354. Possibly it was a conscious takeover of a Roman festival, ‘The Birthday of the Unconquered Sun’, honouring Mithras and other sun-gods. This dating had become standard throughout Western Europe well before Augustine's mission to England; it was not devised to match Anglo-Saxon midwinter festivals.
