Hello there. First time poster, and actually first time site user. I'll try to keep to a single thread depending on if I remain active, to anyone who joins in the discussion after this point bear with me, this is barely half a hobby as I've actual writings to work on and a few sites to maintain.
Purpose:
Sharing of basic/random concepts brought to mind while killing a few hours in what is still one of the best games in the world or from counting dots on my ceiling, whichever.
What I'll just roll my eyes at:
l33t speak, flaming, derailing, and "influenced" replies with no explanation among other common sense things. We're here to discuss, and maybe bring something to life.
I'm aware if I do a bit more digging some of my ideas may already be lurking on here or another modding site, but then again I would most likely have to necro ancient posts.
---
I'll kick this off with the idea that has plagued me for the last two or three days of map hunting. I'm on a rather sad laptop while waiting on my baby to get repaired, as a result battle.net refuses to patch and I have been forced to fall back to playing single player(yes I know there is a fixer, no it didn't work, no I don't want to mess with it, stay on track =D )
A map I came across on EpicWar.com was both nifty and bothersome. World of Warcraft "Full" Edition. Don't get me wrong, the maker had a great idea, but outside of the profession/fancy scepter that summoned workers/sortamap layout it wasn't. It was fun for a bit though, the heroes sadly were a bit to, warcraft3? Can't really scoop up premade heroes and call it a day's work.
What it got stirring in my head were the following (CTRL F to jump ideas A1for this post)
A1) Using the backpack feature to open up the scepter of worker summoning(For those who don't know at first glance it used a summon mechanic that summoned 2 <insert race you chose to lead as a warlord here> workers to throw up towers or a base etc. -OR- Since one of the game's modes was a "lose on base destruction" mode, make the scepter "unpack" into a contingent of workerbees and a base(or not) to free up that bag space Similar with the Profession book(a feature I rather enjoyed, free potions on demand? Yes please =D)
Keep in mind. I am not an active modder, the most I've ever world edited was a custom hero for the WarChasers map for some soloplay challenge or minor things for games like Morrowind/Oblivion. I have several general rpg concepts lurking around for any developers that would like one. Anyhow that is enough of my rambling for now. Until next time!
