Maps that cannot be played on Wc3 1.24e still here?

I am a great fan of hiveworkshop, where great epic maps are mainly posted here. However, due to warcraft having certain updates, some old maps cannot be played in the newer versions.

It is really weird why such "old" maps are not dealt with appropriately on such a site, where maps are taken to serious consideration before being approved or removed. Wouldn't it be better if whether if the maps would be taken down from the site itself, or at least given a warning/notification before downloading? It can be really upsetting for some people since such games with description which seems fun to play, but yet you can't even play it at all?

There are maps out there which are previously famous but aren't working in TFT 1.24e, such as RZO2, and also other maps such as Mini-Me's Super Bomberman, Zombie Takeover. These are one of the many maps that aren't working in 1.24e and still approved from the past, which all seems epic and fun.

It would best if these maps get a fix for the newer version of wc3, or probably a added warning in the Moderator's comment. But if worst come for worst, the maps should probably be removed.

You'd ruin it for them by having those maps deleted?

Report them when you find them.

Map mods don't have time to go through every old map and re-test it every time something comes up.

Is it possible to create a sort order to determine the latest patch used by a given map?

This would allow the old maps to stay and be of use to users like Vermillion Edict and prevent the rest of us from unintentionally downloading an unplayable map.

Erm it's not like your head will grow big and then explode if a map you downloaded won't work...
Plus anyone with enough knowledge can make any outdated map start working again (There's a tutorial about that), altrough it might take a while to replace the not working trriger with a new one, this will require to know JASS.

Alot of the non-working maps are protected, so downloaders can't actually fix it that easily.

Doesn't really make it much (any?) harder, although the editor really should get permission from the original author.

Then that's too bad. Make a clone or something; old maps don't tend to be very advanced anyways.
