[Map section] can't upload images ?

-Is it impossible to upload images in the description when you post a new map, like you can in the threads in map development section ?

-if I have to post links instead, should I use the pastebin / the media gallery and link that ? I want to post screenshots and icons of the heroes with the description of my campaign

Yes, use either pastebin or Media. Just don't forget to make the things you upload in Media public otherwise they won't show to others.

You just upload an image and click the "insert" button after it.

but I only have the "link" option with both the button or ctrl + P in the "post new Map"

You can upload images with a bundle as you are doing. Those can be inserted:

I'm dumb, I thought the upload image at the end was for the map load image, but that's automatic
