Map locked up: Level info data missing or invalid.

I was putting in some custom script to my map; but I apparently left out a comma or something or other and when I saved I got an error message. I thought I fixed it and tried to save again and it locked up and wouldn't close. I restarted my computer and now the map won't open at all and gives the message:

Level info data missing or invalid.

I have a backup from about 5 hours ago, so it's not a complete disaster. But are there any programs to crack this open and save some of the work I did?

I think working on your backup is the best solution.

happened to me it can mean that your map save file has become corrupted
