How feasible is it to create multiple types of magic and have both permanant and temp resistances to each?

I know I can change the settings for dmg types Hero, Chaos, Normal, etc. But can you change the resistance for items like runed bracers to 33% reduction from Hero dmg? Can you change anti-magic shield to protect against other forms of attack? As a % or is it all dmg? How about Defend?

Basically I'm looking for a buff etc that will reduce dmg by a % for ANY attack type. Say I rename Hero attacks to Fire. I change flamestrikes dmg from Magic to Fire. Is there anyway to reduce the dmg taken from flamestrike? I really really don't want to trigger every aspect of every spell...
