Mac 'minimization' for Vista?

Recently i've been fooling around and adding tweaks to my OS, and since i've never had a Mac there's one thing bugging me.
The button in the top right corner.. (No idea what it's called)
When you click it, it miminizes the window into just a titlebar or such, right?
I saw a video with a Vista effect for this once, but sadly i have no idea how to search for it.

Help?

P.s. I don't even know if that button really does that..

This is done with the third button from the right in the top right corner, looks like an underscore and the tooltip says 'minimize' .. good luck champ.
