Hello,
How do you make the water appear by using the "Lower Ground" tool?
If anybody can tell me or show me a link to how I can do this, I would be thankful for it

Nope you don't need WEU. Best way is to start the map as water then raise above it. Or that tutorial which I am starting to use a lot more.

Here's a mini-tutorial I just made for you:
How to make good ponds, rivers, lakes, puddles, etc.

  • Click "New Map".
  • Make the elevation of the map to "Shallow Water" or "Deep Water".
  • Now that your map has been set to what you need, create the map.
  • The map will look like it is covered entirely by water. Open the Terrain Palette (T) and then click the "Raise" tool option.
  • Raise the terrain with the raise tool enough so the water doesn't cover the entire new isle you just created.
  • Then click the "Smooth" tool on the Terrain Palette and smooth the new isle you've made and smear it all over the map until the entire map is covered by land.
  • Now your map is pretty much set. Whenever you want to make a puddle, lake, pond, river, sea, ocean, etc. all you will need to do is select the "Lower" tool on the Terrain Palette and lower whatever part of the terrain to make a watery section.
I hope this helps you out!

Only problem with this Craka, is that you can't lower any more, and you can't make rivers higher than other rivers. I always use the other way now!

Read the tutorial. You make normal ugly blizzard cliff water. Then go to Advanced - enforce water hight limits. Un-check it and then use the level tool to fill in your ugly cliff water. Now lower and the water will come through. As I said, this way is better because you can have multiple heights of water, and you don't have to worry about lowering into water where you don't want it. Once you are completely finished with the water, doodads and all, re-check enforce water height limits.

Oops, I thought Donut linked this tutorial. Here is a better one!
