Looking for friendly help with triggers

Hello everyone I am working on a map and everything seems to be going okay, until triggers have to be done. I suck at it and do really know much about it.
I desperate need an ability which fire a projectile (could be a firebolt) for a maximum range. First target hit within this range will take a flat amount of damage (could be like 50) +2 for every 1 point of intelligence. If you are willing to help me, I will gladly send you the map and give you credit for your hard work work.

- I also got this problem: When a hero picks up a sertain item, it gets an ability and when it loses that item, the ability is lost as well. Now the problem is, if the hero got two of those items and loses one, the ability is lost and I don't know how to chance that. :s

I dont get your problem on the second trigger. Are you adding the ability when the unit picks up the item than removing it after? If so, just check if the unit has that specific item when u remove the abil

Now just to be clear. The Ability I need should function like this:
The hero fires a firebolt in a target direction (a selection type like blinks, where you point out the way you want to go) (have to be easy to change this projectile since every hero got a diffrent version of it... Some spit fire and some spit frost) the first target hit within a maximum range, will take a flat amount of damage (for example 50) + 2 damage for every 1 poit of intelligence the casting hero got.
If the projectile hits a tree bot the tree and the projectile is destroyed.
If it hits higer ground the projectile is destroyed. There will unlikly be hills in the map, som I'm talking about terrain ramps.
If the projectile reaches its maximum range its destroyed. The projectile may proceed if its casted from a higer to a lower ground.
If the projectile hits another projectile (whether its the same version or not) both projectiles are destroyed.

About the other problem: The trigger Remove shadow step should only remove the ability, if the hero does not carry the boots requred.
