Locrito's Adventures

Locrito's Adventures
Created by Locrito

Map Information

The Campaign Consists in...
It consist in managing a group of units, generally conformed by Locrito, and his horse Footie, but you get to use some other units along with them. It's made to have some fun. Some incoherencys (like Locrito's abilities) are to make the game easier, and because they have a nice colour combination! (Yeah I'm that kind of person) I have two other big projects (still) I will finish in some months. Take this campaign as a little time killer, to you for playing it, and to me for making it. :)

Credits
The Campaign was made by me, I only used the Warcraft III basic models, and inspiration was previous of my knowledge of Joe's Quest, though I admire the creator of such campaign. Except for the bandit model shadow fury made me realize I forgot to give credits for. -_- Thanks to Wandering Soul for that model!

Other Stuff
It's a short, simple campaign made to be completed in just one sit.

Story
This short campaign is about a traveller, called Locrito, and his horse, Footie. One day he finds a village, where he finds some problems with the faddish mayor...

Edit
I got some nostalgia, and replayed my campaign. I found numerous bugs and crashes, which were fixed (specially on final mission). However, terraining and the incredibly absurd dialogues were kept the same, since I feel it's the essence of this campaign.

Not a bad campaign. I am going to say my opinion in the 3 levels:-
Level 1
+ Terrain was pretty good and wide enough even if the map is small.
+ Sarcasm in the beginning, I liked it when the horse said "Thank you" and the knight said "WTF?"
+ Fist sound when Locrito attacks

- Descriptions in loading screen and quests were very short and I don't like that!
- The story isn't really original
- Abilities aren't that marvellous
- Why Locrito doesn't have a weapon in his hand? I don't think that attacking with fists is really a good idea.
- Mega aura's icon is the Engineering Upgrade?
- Why did I find the spy just when I got nearby him? Shouldn't he be unknown and find clues to discover him?
- Not great dialogue
- You could add horse sound when Footie says "humpff heee" because it is silent and it's bad

Level 2
+ Terrain also fantastic in here
+ Good idea of letting brigands ride the horses

- Why the prisons of Locrito and Footie were open without a gate?
- The same defects as above

Level 3
+ I appreciated the idea of this last level

- I don't approve the idea of undead allying with me. They usually hate all races and wish their death. It would've been more appropriate if there were orcs instead of undead
- Peasants harvest wheat with their hammers???
- Why when I attack the lich his troops don't help him?
- Terrain deluded me this time
- My allies didn't really help because they r weaklings compared to my enemy. Knights, chaplains, footmen and GUARD TOWERS vs Bandits, ghouls and necromancers
Who do u expect is going to win? I can't handle with Locrito and Footie 5 knights! I remained near the fountain in the city and just when I left, bye bye Footie!
I shall say that it was hard so I used cheats to finish it. I lost twice and I got tired!

All in all, I'll give it a 3/5 plus +rep, an enjoyable campaign. Ah, and I vote for APPROVAL surely.

Originality

A campaign as we all know but is something that tries to give humor to players which looks good. The campaign might not be that serious in most stuffs but this campaign gives much fun.

Score: 62/100

Presentation

Presentation looks good, gives an insightt of the campaign but could have some more in the story part, I mean you could add some extra insights in it. By the way, you should totally hide those screenshot in a hidden tag which can be done by wrapping each of the image tags with

Score: 60/100

Design

Minimap image uses the default minimap images for Warcraft so I don't have any complains in it, looks decent. Everything looks fine for the designs I see nothing wrong in it.

Score: 64/100

Terrain

Terrain for me is quite good, it's quite Warcraft-ish in quality but you indeed made a good terrain. I would just suggest for you to add maybe some fogs on each Chapters, could be better with those.

Score: 69/100

Object Data

Some of the spells/skills of Locrito does not fit him that much such as the 2nd and 4th skill. You could change the Sleep spell with a Rest spell that lets you rest and restore life and mana, could be much better with this and can prove useful when in grave danger. 4th skill is like impossible for a normal human to attain, an illusionary spell if we are to be realsitic enough, you could try changing it into a strong combat spell.

Score: 70/100

Gameplay

Overall, the campaign is good with a humor in it but I do think the emoticons/smileys in some dialogues could be removed. I know it lets you give feeling to it but I tell you it makes the dialogue worst and childish. There are also some little grammatical errors in it and some choice of words are quite bad.

I would not see through the story flaws and story plotholes seeing this is meant for laughs or humors so everything can go weird.

Score: 65/100

mr_design_suggestions.jpg

You could improve a little bit your Hive description. Put some extra inishgts in the story and hide the images in Hidden tags.

Some of Locrito's spells seems unrealistic enough and also does not fit him much. Have a look for those on the Object Data part of my review.

The campaign has some little grammatical errors in the dialogues and some choice of words are quite bad. Remove the emoticons and smileys in it also because they are making the dialogues much worse and chilidish.

Yeah Hell Master, I agree that some abilities do not fit with Locrito. Like when I found sleep, I said "A human can cast a dreadlord's spell?". And mirror image was quite useful but still inappropriate. Still, that's a funny and great campaign
Ah, and u forgot to give credits to the "mounted bandit" model!

Your Footie can talk and use items so he/she should learn some weak skills
such as Slow or Rage or Hide or some passive ;)

Your hero makes stun by gas bottle, so you should change Sleep's text as using drug LOL. Your ultimate skill... can not entrap towers and priests :( As a normal human, you can add skill avoid attack or block damage to defend instead of make illusions (or you want to be a ninja).

I think skill such as Drunken Brawler of Panda or Bash of Mountain King or Cleaving Attack of Pit Lord is better than Sleep because your hero is fighter.
(Without Sleep, this map is still easy) Evasion or WindWalk or Hide is good to protect you.
Transmute is also good if you add a Mercenary Camp or Shop (but it doesn't conform with a normal human) :D

_Chapter 3:
*mini bug*: Without breaking the gate of the altar place, Knights are stunned or sleep forever, i can blink or use ultimate skill to move through gate and attack them such as pigs (they don't attack me) (image)

Barrack should train a Knight instead of 2 Footman

And i dont understand about the alliance, both bandit and undead only attack outside the fortress, undead sometimes moves into and moves out without attacking -___- I think they only want to protect themselves

But thank you for this map
I think it's one of your dream

Hi i found 2 bugs:
1:
Chapter 2;In the dialogue when footie dies the dialogue says:
Right footie? then a black screen shows up on footies image when talking
Bug 2:
Chapter 3;
i killed the undead lich(I didn't like that there was no dialogue after that)
THEN I KILLED THE 2 KNIGHTS AND THE hydromencers i was going back to my base to think of a plane then suddenly the lich's dialogue happened again and the seame thing happened again.
i shall give map rating of 2.8
no time to say all reasons

Fatal error in map 3 and other feedback

I fatal errored twice while delivering a death blow to (a specific? light blue) peasant(s) inside the fortress in map 3...don't care to try again.

Really liked the initial dialogue with the gossiping guards and half-crazy person with his pretty awesome horse.

Also loved the sound effects for hitting (for several minutes anyways)

The world could have had more cohesiveness....go from normal-like talking to attacking random warcraft 3 enemies while not having a warcraft 3 feel for dialogue....such as the bandits cheering for their leader (would expect them to be excited about looting/treasures/ale/moved by a speech not hailing their leader like a king) and the undead not attacking you on sight and being right next to your base and challenging you to "hand to hand" combat (where items and abilities and claws of attack are allowed and no reference to the horses hoofs or anything) and surrendering with "don't hurt me"...not very undead like--also doesn't sound like a leader so much as a weak kid who lost a fight (perhaps just have him recognize your worthiness or say enough--or something more original). Would be better if it was another race---or a more personalized undead with an off-key personality that causes it to make more sense--particularly if they relate on a weird/quirky level or some sort of test or trial or exchange is made.

Don't see why bandits would join you (especially after you just killed the main group of them) in 2nd map instead of just being like thanks---and going invisible and sneaking out or fighting or diverting the jailkeepers. (or perhaps change them from bandits....I did love how you could get horsies for them though)

You could have done a better job capturing Diego's personality (disorder)--perhaps have him mumbling something to himself (showing us how his mind works or what he's focused on or how he's lost it) or clearly getting ticked off by something specific that was said (blowing it out of porportion)----(I was rather tired when i played but i was left with only a vague notion of what i was supposed to catch)

Sound files for the horse's speech would have been amazing

Undead village was too cramped---had to attack the npcs to get to the barrels and the item hidden within. And yeah they were kinda useless (along with Locrito's men), pretty much left to the one-man army Locrito to mainly autoattack things.

Some horse-only items might have done nicely; or an ability to mount your horse

Ability names/descriptions/effects could have matched Locrito better. Maybe some confuse/daze/stun/verbal attacks (perhaps a mana burn because it takes away your ability to concentrate/think smart)

Some great things and lots of lacking things 3/5

A good map but I do miss more maps and one thing I think you need to look at your custom units since in the last map your workers have the ability to harvest but it isn't any building to retrieve any resource. Or you could just make them work in the beginning of the movie begin and make the workers go inside the barrack.

I mean that wen you have been done the second quest and the enemy is attacking I want may to get control over the main base so you could get control over the base and begin to train warriors. If you don't want to make barrack make food or set many farms there so you could use triggers to make your player have food , example of number it could be 30 and the base don't get gold and lumber right ? so you could make yours warriors just cost food. Or you can do it as the last Rexxar's map ( The Rexxar is of the Blizzard ) . Make the bandit base have AI since you have a good AI to your undead since they do attack but they could have been making few warriors in the beginning some like Ghouls to harvest more and when the second quest is done they would attack and few of the Ghouls can be on the base. If you don't have it so easy to do it, you could make a Ghoul Lumber worker some can be make two of and melee Ghouls can be five. The Ghouls lumber worker can be left to work to harvest. I have to say good work 5 / 5 from me :D

This could have had plenty of humour and stuff to do, even for a short campaign.

lev1:
-Molotov has the same hotkey as the command Move. I'm not using that command through the keyboard but... just sayin'
-little interaction with people. Dialogue should bring the medieval era to light
-there is no quest that requires the hero and or his horse to remain alive
-where did the Knights disappear to?
-quest progress is pretty linear
-how did Diego know Locrito's name?

lev2:
-the cellar has no door
-"Dungeon Defense Completed" quest message 3 times and then two more times. Actually it kept appearing, probably, after any blue unit died
-the story lacks real logic. Diego wants to force Locrito to help him but can't and locks him up. Then he tells him he'll catch him after Locrito smashed his troops to dust. Moreover the Bandits were probably on the way and the real threat

lev3:
-suddenly we see Locrito having an army and it looks like it's made of.. bandits!
-you can get through the eastern cavern but can't get back?
-how smart is to settle an encampment near an undead base without knowing they'd be allies or not
-Diego didn't mobilize the elite army? Really, but Locrito was just in the middle of the base, not seen, not even by the towers? The funny part is, that the blue towers and the buildings can just be destroyed without a problem
-critical error while fighting the Peasants and Militia in Diego's base after bringing the fortress gates down. Any blue unit killed or attacked may result in a crash. I'm not sure what the cause could be

At least it didn't kill too much of my time.

Having player your other campaign "Life of a captain" I'd say that you improved a lot with campaign creation.
This campaign seems influenced by the "Joe's quest campaigns".
From my point of view and reading other comments I'd say that your campaign is not meant to be taken seriourly, you made it with jokes and humor (Like the talking horse footie), but anyway I'll review the campaign chapter by chapter:

Chapter 1: Really good map, I was surprised that you put so many quest and side quest in a little map, the story develops in a funny way with locrito and his companion footie, and the end was funny just arresting the main character by the police.

Chapter 2: I passed the prison level too quick, can't really tell something concrete about it, except for the bandits that can mount horses, that was very cool.

Chapter 3: The last chapter was boring, nothing much to do and would always occur a fatal error that closes my game, I can't tell if it is triggered by killing to many units or let pass time, it kicked me both ways and had to cheat to pass the mission, luckily I found an "Inferno stone" and threw on the enemy's hero head.

Comparing this campaign with your "Life of a captain", I can see that you improved a lot, except for the bugs in the last mission I congratulate you, but please fix the fatal error, the terrain desing is good tho except for the last mission.

I played it on V1.27b

I've just finished the campaign, took me like an hour to complete since it's very short and I took my time to explore the maps as I can.
The campaign is pretty simple with humorous dialogue.

The maps design is pretty simple but good.

First level is small but the terraining makes it seem wide and I like that. Despite the map size, it has many quests which is a good surprise and the plot progresses in a funny twist.

In the second level, the mission starts in a gateless cell which doesn't make sense and why are the bandits suddenly supporting Locrito after he slaughtered their warband and leader?

in level three, the alliance with the Undead didn't make any sense since there's nothing Locrito has to offer to the lich and the nature of the Undead as life-hating creatures wouldn't let them ally with humans even if they were bandits. Also, the bandits and undead do not offer much help since their attack waves are weak compared to the castle defenders - knights, chaplins, footmen and guard towers. I've noticed that the undead food cap is at 40 and bandits at 64 which won't allow them to build an effective attack wave.

I have more notes but Shadow Fury has already stated them.

It's a good campaign though if you want to let kids play a simple challenge and introduction to Warcraft RTS.

{I played this on version 1.31}
Hi, i finished playing this one as well, not much to say other than the fact that in chapter 3 we should be able to either control the bandit camp or make the A.I. more aggressive, because they were sending like 1 small wave every 5 minutes which did not help at all against the human fortress with their super strong armies, (The undead base were sending the waves every 3 minutes but they were dying pretty fast as well) eventually i just gave up and used cheats cuz otherwise it would have taken me more than 1 hour to finish this stupid mission lol.

And another suggestion would be to use more funny dialogues lines like when Locrito is saving the bandits after he just killed their leader, like: "Oh hi.. i know i just killed your leader and all but.. i can make up for it by killing Diego and getting your asses out of jail!"

Chapter 1 and 2 were fine, but because of chapter 3 being this annoying i can't rate this too high.

I noticed that if I download it I can't play lots of old maps. There is no way around? This reforged version (even with classic graphic) won't support these maps?

AI balance updated, fatal error crash hopefully fixed, and made Diego's Elite Army invulnerable at the beginning to avoid an exploit where the player could kill the castle without any opposition and go directly to Diego.

Heheh, I got some nice memories creating this campaign.

nice short campaign with some really funny moment such as diego talking to no one LOL i have one major complaint tho

the troops in mission 3 sit idle for way way way too long i thought the army of the bandits and undead will attack often well no they take very very long to attack making it 2 units vs an entire army which is tough please reduce the amount of time between attacks make it a bit more frequent other than that its fine

yeah tried it again and AI attacks constantly and it no longer freezes in its place for a second during attacks also the change done to bandits attack place is great as both undead and the bandits attack on the same access allowing you to push with more confidence its still hard to push but its at least fair now

Thought I would add some notes I wrote down from when I played this:

Ch1
Making the note about the invasion drop from tent might be hard for some to find, as posed to one of the bandits.
The healing fountain wasn't pinged or anything when I got the quest from the goblin.
Sounded like we get boat as reward for killing the murgol, but in fact he gave us the boat right away, we could have just not done the quest and still taken his boat :D.

Ch2
Blue humans have no team name.
No reward killing guard towers?

Ch3
Maybe send more units from bandits / undead, cause right now the 3 blue barracks can produce 3 peasants in less than 30 seconds between them, so even if I try to aim buildings they make too many peasants which then repair stuff. Only way I could beat this was killing the left side (light blue's base) since he couldn't make many peasants in a short time, then lured the boss out, killed his altar, then lured him down south away from blue's army.

General points

Overall, a fun short campaign that reminds me of campaigns back from pre 2010. I enjoyed it.

Chapter 1:Wow ok that was fun, cinematics were cool, gameplay was good and i did not get bored.
Overall good terrain.

Chapter 2: It is ok, terrain was good cinematics were aright.
The mission is ok nothing more to say.

Chapter 3: It was good, terrain was pretty good, just found myself getting stuck in the undead base a lot(pretty tight base)
At the start it was a bit slow in my opinion,
but overall good campaign!!

I GIVE IT A 3.2/5
:)

Alright so I've finished playing it and I got to say I had fun. It was simple, there is almost to none custom stuff but still enjoyable.

Sometimes gameplay get's a bit slow since you have to do siege damage with only just 2 units, but it was short, simple and fun.

I also want to point out that I like the terrain and doads placement!

By the way... I have to ask. Locrito's name is after the food? xD Because I also noted there was another Spanish name on here so... 🇦🇷? 👀
