Locate data from exel. Possible?

Actually not exel but the OpenOffice equivalent.
Anyway.

I have a whole bunch of units who uses a custom stat system.
For reference I have typed all data into an exel.ods document.

I wonder if it is possible to extract the information from said exel.ods instead of having to create a lot of arrays.

Its not possible, but you can write a tool that reads the excel file and generates the jasscode which fills arrays with the data.

It's not as hard as it sounds, I think a simple Python script could do it. If you have a Python IDLE I could write the script for you if you are unfamiliar...

and what about using hashtables? for me its like in excel. in each column you have one of your stats and in each row you have one unit, am I right? So hashtable is just what you need, you dont have to save them in external document

I know workarounds. But that is not the issue. Actually there is no issue. Just a general wondering

Now you say that. But I have no idea how to code, script or anything the like.
Furthermore I have also no idea what Python is

I coulda sworn that some basic Wc3 documents/information was kept on (the equivalent of) Excel spreadsheets... I've seen some of the big old mods using them. Are you guys sure?

Excel are used in Object Editor, I remember Lightning Effects stored in an excel file.
