This is a complete and mostly utter customization of an AoS.
Minor Descriptions:
-5v5
-Human vs Undead
-4 lanes
-Lane upgrading
-Customized and default abilities
-Custom heroes
-3 levels (or more) of creeps

The reason why I feel this could be a potential "takeover" of DotA is because I have received countless emails and PMs online that state that the people lovethe idea and can' wait for the Beta release. Another thing is my brother, a total DotA fan, is my constant little mini tester and thinks it is great and said it from the start.

I don't really see how people could look forward to a map so much with hardly any information about it released :P

Well this thread needs a lot more information about the map, screenshots and it needs to tell us about the map, that to me isn't really telling me anything about the map.
 
Rule No 1 of map making: Don't think that your map will ever overthrow DotA.

1. 5 vs 5 gameplay is good and all but isn't anything to get exicted about. (Besides why can't you do 6 vs 6 gameplay?)
2. I've seen the whole Elves vs Undead/Humans vs Undead/Good vs Evil thing all the time try something more new.
3. 4 lanes are fine but it isn't that new.
4. Lane upgrading really does need to be in more AoS's.
5. Ok what AoS doesn't have this now?

7. Please I know of an AoS that has 100 levels of creep upgrades...

(Sigh... I know I'm being really harsh.)

Okay, I don't think you got this right "potential" means what it means and yes other AoSes may have 100 levels but I was talking about WITHOUT upgrades.

So, would anybody like to join my team and help with this?
 
A) DotA is not beatable by a mortal man. The devil himself created it.

B) There is nothing amazing about your map thus far. It's so much like every AoS I almost cried. DotA is one of the only AoS that don't have unit upgrades.

C) I do hope you make an awesome map, but you have not given me any hope yet.

Yhea Dota is just about unbeatable.
The map looks fun to play.

Be sure to underpower the range units compared to melle (just like 2 less at base stat or something)

Try to add something unique.
EXC... A map that every attack knocks back a unit sounds more fun then a regular map even if the first ones less balanced.
 
Still not a lot of information - you should probably have started off just saying that you're working on terrain for an aos map, and showcase that. Everything else just isn't enough information to get a feel for the map.

Looks like you're off to a good start so far with the terrain, but I really think there are way too many trees. Maybe use larger trees?

As far as beating DOTA, it's not going to happen with a single map. Your best bet is to introduce an easy to get into new gametype that people can easily get into, on a map that is far friendlier and easier to get into than dota (aka no huge memorization requirement [aka recipes, the 'good' heroes, etc] to do even relatively well vs a good team), and have that map be unprotected by the final release.

If the map is really well done and in jass, most mappers aren't going to bother going through the effort required to just rig the map, and any spinoff maps that come of it will probably be pretty good.
