Loading Screen / Recipes

Hey, I'm a huge noob with map making and I'm making a map for my clan.
I'm doing quite well with it, except for two things:
1.) For the loading screen picture is there any specific format for it? such as .jpg or .gif?

and

2.) When trying to make like 3 items turn into one (such as the DotA item recipes or Custom Hero Line Wars recipes), whatever I try to do, it does not work.

Any feedback is useful, I'm sure it'll be something that's really quite easy that I just haven't thought of.

Maybe you could make a hero manipulating item trigger, and make it so he clicks on an item, the other 3 or so items get owned and u get the item of choice. Thats what i would try

wow shorter post and its probably better XD i never knew you could do recipe system in JASS very impressive
