anyone knows how to work this ability to only deal damage to enemy units instead of friendlies?

the Stats - Targets Allowed only works for the buff to be placed on a unit type, not for the damage it will hit

You can try to work with triggers and add a Permanent Immolation to the target.

Since you want a Lightning Shield-based ability, just take another spell to be based off (Permanent Immolation looks good) and have the effect change to the Lightning Shield buff.

but won't that be a standard self ability? I'm actually after for the lightning shield's only dealing damage per second for the nearby enemy units. same ability style but doesn't have that annoying affected friendly damage per second.

Use channel then add the ability to the targeted unit, then remove it after Xseconds.

Permanent Immolation does this the same way... just use it dude don't stick to Lightning Shield.

I tried it but its not clickable, and I tap in targets allowed - self for the buff to be able to place for the caster but the dps is draining the unit D:

Create a new ability (based on channel if possible) and add an hidden permanent immolation to the target (hidden icon with a spell book) by using triggers then remove it with triggers.

    • Unité - Set level of Permanent Immolation for (Target of ability being cast) to (Level of Lightning Shield for (Triggering unit))
    • Joueur - Désactiver Permanent Immolation Spell Book for (Owner of (Target unit of ability being cast))
    • Wait X seconds
    • Unité - Remove Permanent Immolation from (Target ability of ability being cast)

You can create three balls of lightning that spin around your hero. And then - damage whoever you want.

I created this test map, enjoy.
It is fully MUI.

You must copy both of the trigger.

First one is to hide the ability from appearing it inside UI of a unit.
Second one is adding of the ability (Permanent Immolation)
