- cap will check at the end of every wave, and any lumber above cap will remove from game.








LegionTD Mega is base on Legion TD War 1.50c (by LISK), he quit Warcraft 3 and left the map for anyone to continue development.

for this version (Mega), it will be X3 mode only, so I can spent more time to balance the map for X3 mode.

Primary Mode:
  • -AP : All Pick - All players can pick any race.
  • -AP : All Random - All players are given a random race.
  • -SD : Single Draft - All players are given 2 random races to choose.
  • -HP : Host Pick - host pick a race, every given same race as host.
Secondary Mode:
  • -mm : Master Mind - Restricted vision on enemy's map and information.
  • -hg : Hour Glass - Receive gold for enemy leaks (that reach the King).
  • -gg : Get Gold - Receive gold from kills at middle (near king).
  • -cb : Change Builder - You can pay to change to a new builder.
  • -li : Limit Incomer - Pure income is disabled untill lvl10+.
  • -X3 : 3 Time - more creeps spawn
Default Mode: if you don't enter mode in 15 seconds after game start, it will use "-aphgggmmcbx3" as defualt mode.

Quick Mode: if mode string is 3 characters long, it will use Quick Mode. eg "-ap"

- Mana regen aura : 3% -> 5% (eg, if you have 30mana, it will add +1.5 mana/second)

Shadow:
- Nightmare/Doppleganster tank better (light -> unarmored)

Nature:
- Tree of Knowledge's AoE spell limit to 15 target

Demi:
- Alpha Male: reduce spell animation (almost instantly cast)

Orc:
- Poison cannot kill creep (will leave it with 1hp)

Goblin:
- Goblin's driver will elf-destructive when die ( same effect as small/medium land mine)

Creep:
- level 22, 28 is slightly easier (around 5-10% easier)
- 17,18,23,24,25,26,27 is harder

Summon:
- correct shortcut key for Pudge & shaman

- Behemouch changes: add +3 armor aura
- Krakken changes: add healing aura (+4 hp AOE)

Arena:

- Unit/Turtle won't move untill fight start

Hi, wanna post some new bugs from 3.3, will try out 3.35 and see how that is soon ^^
-On the time before each arena starts, the builder can move anywhere in the map. My friends and I always play -hp and pick prophet and we all share auras, cause we can go anywhere we want. :D The builder won't be warped back to its area.
-On lvls 11 and 21, Mercenary's units won't go to protect the king. They'll sit there, frozen. Antistuck won't work, of course.
Requests for 3.4:
-Make lvl 13 easier: with a pudge, a furbolg and a commander for each oponent sent by us, the match will end 99% of the time... the lvl is too strong with these auras, even 19 is easier. Usually there are big leaks and nothing can be done. King will be too weak on 13.
-Make Arctic and Beast's dragons stronger. They're useless after lvl 10. :-s
-Make lvl 25 stronger. Saw people holding that with 5k value. It's just wrong :D

-I don't think you should lock level 4 summon until max wood. You will make it too "noob friendly" to play merc.

--Arctic--
-Ice dragons are good now. Arctic was always a good race, but they are one of the best after this change, because of the overpowered ice troll slows + ice dragon slow (double slow).
-Wendigos should be buffed. 14% evasion for a low hp unit is not useful. The stun/crit chance unit is much better for less gold because they are protected by the other units' slows.

--General game play--
-Can you nerf level 22 and 28 a little (just a little is enough). In pro games, demons+krakens+auras at these levels is almost always GG.
-Is it a feature that you can pick merc even though the host picked -HP prophet? (you don't even have to build one unit before instantly picking merc)
-For unbalanced games in the level 20 fight, one of the extra turtle bosses sometimes begins the fight alone (and gets killed) before the timer starts the fight.

Artic's slow cause crash before, so I allow them stack. in later beta (maybe beta 4) I will rework pathing, so I can implement minimum movement speed on all unit

Merc in B3 is not that much different than in Beta2. You have to find a way to slow down their lumber upgrade. Funny thing is that merc is the weakest on 3.3 (but still strongest race in 3.3) when compared to 3.35 B2 and B3. I think merc might be balanced in 3.3 if you allow changer builder to merc only once.

--After level 10 boss--

--Bugs--
-The fog of war was uncovered for part of player 5's area starting on round 21 (I think) and I can see his units for the rest of the game.
-Meat Wagon and War Machine splashes air units too.
-Your builder gets stuck and can't move. You have to press HOLD or change builder for it to be able to move again.
-Some units still sometimes start the fight early in the team fight. It's rare but it happened to my Azure Dragon.

--Unholy--
-Hard to play race. Strong early game because of War Machine. Weak in mid game and late game. At around 13-15 change builder is almost a must or you will leak if you try to lumber faster. If you fix the splash to air dmg, this race will be even weaker.
-The dragon is almost the same as the Azure Dragon and some people think it's lame.
-Only the Necro aura mage (very useful), War Machine, and Dragon seem useful. All the other units are not good.
-The pudge aura should be at least 300-400 range for him to be even a little useful. He is melee and once he dies, the aura is gone anyway.

let me know if you have more detail for this bug, like when it happen and how often it happen.

Undead will continue change for sure, at the end, it should be like this:
- Pudge should be good tank (weak dps)
- Necromage (with raise dead) should be top dpser

I have trouble with raise dead ability, so I don't know what it will end up.


PS: can you upload replay for Mecenary that reach level 25+

-Someone on the other team said something about the Undead archer summon during the team fight only having 31 hp. Not sure what he meant.

I forgot to build during one of the rounds and still got insane income.

Hi just joined this forum to admit that new merc is too op.
Also had like 1000 income at level 21 and i didnt do my usual build.
I just mass spammed t1 units cause they dont cost any gold and give income.
that should be adjusted, so that pro players who care how much they build and bareley survive profit from their building. Yeah i lost 5 lumber for every t1 but thats not much with 7/15 :D

Now lets talk about other races. I am no a pro but very good so that i can reach 7/9-12 lumber till level 20. What i wanna say is that paladin and marine are much weaker than other races. like paladin has only a good t6 unit and marine is a race i ll never pick in sd. i tried some builds but they failed at level 10 or 11 and i dont like leaking ^^

p.s. i always care to get at least 7/1 till level 10 cause a good income is necessary for lategame.

yes, I found a bug from your replay, summon archer got attacked by allies for a short second.

Not sure if it only affects Merc, but I don't think so. Someone said his builder couldn't move in one of the other games I played and he wasn't Merc. It could be because of lag, but I doubt lag can last that long. I happened to me right before the level 10 boss round (I think). Will think it has something to do with the builder movement lock you put in to keep players from moving around during team fights.

Builder cannot move is cause by "cast Holy Light on king"

somehow builder have infinite long spell casting backswing (because I set them to 0.001 so they cannot cancel Holy Light by press "S")

it is fixed now (and they still can't cancel by press stop "S" :)

please try Mecenary again, and let me know how it going. you don't really need replay, some number report like these is enough :

level 5: 7/5 30 income
level 7: 7/7 xx income
level 9: 7/10 xx income
level 10: 7/13 XX income
level 15:
level 20:
etc

unless it is replay with Mecenary on level 30

hey..
just tested the map a bit, mainly the new race.

first of all think its not too weak in general. but there are a few things to think about


- no one will use the first tower (like all cheap towers without any ability). Since it is the only one with magic attack why dont give him a usefull skill so you wanne build it.(in my opinion should be a singel target skill. (i would say what about a frostslow, slows attack and move speed, because race is weak against bosses)
-the race needs at least one long range tower or it is too weak in late game (now all are kind of stuck in lategame) i would like if you would improve the range of necromancer from 400 to maybe 500 or at least 450. (not much change but think that would help a lot. because it doesnt have nearly same range with archers then)
-like others said..true point with deathworm.. same than beast and arctic tower... since race already has some (waeak but have splash) why not completly change the tower.. maybe siege or magic attack and other ability?

other races..

-in my opinion mech is a bit overpowerd i would nerf the tank a bit

-would also nerf the splash stun from demi human`s Bigfoot

Tried Merc on beta 4... Not getting income from the barracks is insane, totally limits down merc, dont wanna try the builder any time soon again. Not its biggest fan, but I did play it pretty decently till lvl 14 on other beta versions and it gave good income and value for endgame. I agree it was op in beta 3 (with my change at lvl 14 and only 7/12 i managed to get a 25k value at lvl 31 and around 1.5k income)

-votekick bug on beta 4: the player does get kicked, but his units stay and fight for the rest of the game. so leak after leak, that has to get fixed

-on the arena, one of arctic's dragons fight before the timer starts and gets killed

-dont know if u fixed this in beta 4, but in beta 3 the upgraded wyvern had the same damage as an non-upgraded one.

-in beta 3, after i changed from merc one game, i picked prophet and it had minotaurs, so i built about 5 of them and on lvl 15 geomancers appeared to help them. they died almost instantly but every 2 seconds or so, another one would appear :D have no idea why

well withouit income from barracks mercanry is f***ed.

numbers arent really usfull now i guess.
If you paly normal you have around 60-70 income after lvl 10. this is ridicules

if would be better to always max build the cheapest tower to get at least some income but this would be so lame and income would still be pretty bad.

So you have to think about something else... guess just make the towers cost more lumber to protect other players from mass spawn. but dont work with the bracks that dindt work!!

Merc seems about right now, about the same income curve as 3.3, but without the ability to kill the other team early like in 3.3. It's not weak if there's only one Merc on your team. The income easily goes over 1k by late 20's. The changes you made in Beta4 stops Merc from sending early strong summons, but by level 21 they can have 4k wood (since using wood to summon doesn't increase their income anyway, they just save it up). With 4k wood, you can easily finish the game at 21.

The people that are posting it's weak haven't learned how to play the new Merc yet. However, the changes do make Merc not as fun to play (complaints of it being boring now). Have you considered to allow Merc to get gold from barrack but make it half as much as every other race (for both Baracks). Half income from barracks will make it possible to have more than 1 Merc on the same team. Right now, the changes you made, it doesn't make sense to have more than 1 Merc on the same team.

Have a replay with a great Merc player and a pretty imba Undead (so powerful now) getting to level 31 and winning a 2v4, but not sure if you want to watch it. Has a lot of trash talking :)

what is the value for Mecenary at level 30 ?
- income sound good
- max lumber at level 15 is good too


maybe Barrack should give income after max lumberjack ?

because in 3.4, Mecenary should be :
- can handle level 30 without change builder. (enough gold, lumber to buy 15x 4th unit every round)
- support unit, upgrade king for income

undead will adjusted in every beta. (any feedback about undead dragon? )

replay would be nice (especial for level 30 with Undead or mecenary)

first you can do it with mercanary now, but have to say it is absolutly no fun at all

have to say didnt got nearly that high incomes in earlie lvls than foot4balance posted but was solo mode so different story anyway.
was 7/15 after lvl 14

in the end i did have abour 1050 income.

you dont get enough wood for 28,29,30 if you dont leak to king and dont save wood. gold is abosolutly no problem in late game if you dont switch away from mercanry.

All in all mercanry still holds, but in my opinion no fun without gold from barracks. should do soemthing else to balance it.. i wouldn`t change gold from barack sends just balance it with tower costst.

have to say didnt got nearly that high incomes in earlie lvls than foot4balance posted but was solo mode so different story anyway.
was 7/15 after lvl 14

in the end i did have abour 1050 income.

you dont get enough wood for 28,29,30 if you dont leak to king and dont save wood. gold is abosolutly no problem in late game if you dont switch away from mercanry.

All in all mercanry still holds, but in my opinion no fun without gold from barracks. should do soemthing else to balance it.. i wouldn`t change gold from barack sends just balance it with tower costst.

I think you forget one thing for Mecenary:
- they can send mass summon in early game.

that is the main reason for mecenary rework.

I think possible change for mecenary in next beta:
- barrack give income after max lumberjack
- 4th unit cost 120 gold/100 lumber, with 900 value

remember you have 4000 spare lumber at level 20 ? but not enough lumber for 28/29/30? try save them :) or small leak so you have more time for lumber.

will continue adjust and see how it go.

@HuanAK - 2v4 (Merc + Undead against 4 players) Replay attached. The Undead in the replay can do better. Last game I max out lumber at 22 with Undead.

Merc can finish solo without change builder in both Beta3 and Beta4, but yes it's really boring. The first replay I sent you showed the other Merc in my team soloing without change builder. It's not a problem.

A good Merc can max lumber at 13 in Beta4. The lumber and income stats I posted have the Merc maxing at 13, not 15. He was already max at 13.

Making barrack give lumber after max lumber for Merc is still so powerful because they max at 13. His income will be super high again.

--Undead--
-Undead dragon very powerful. It is much higher dmg than the Beast and Arctic Dragon but don't cost that much more gold.
-Really, you have to nerf Undead necro archer summons.
-The ghoul has 600 hp so what use is the life steal? He die so fast anyway. Make him lower cost or give him another ability.
-Make the acolyte have an ability or maybe make him very high range. He is low hp, low range, low dmg.
-Buff the war machine or make it cost a little less gold for upgrade. Right now, I only make necro archers. Even against siege armor the necro archers are better than war machine because they are 3 archers and attack so fast.

The other players didn't get any builder and couldn't pick for themselves. I can't verify this, but 2 players from my team started complaining, and two others from the other team said the same thing.

this problem sound weird, I will check the code.

It would be nice if you still have replay, or try again see if it happen 100% of time.

if it happen "sometime" only, then it will harder to find out why.

I was going to do -HP prophet for a full game today, but one of the players said NO because only red and blue get a builder. The other players don't get. This is what happened in my other game too, but I'm not sure about the other team.

I spent lots of time to Optimizing the code, so lag should greatly reduce.

Hmm we tried 4 v 4 but cannot tell u if it was due to me or the 2 ppl that played at i-cafe and had very slow connection.

hp mode: 1 vs 2
me the one got 2 prophets
other team didnt got any hero

units didnt teleport to king after fight.
and votekick was totally wrecked.

Just a suggestion tho... put the official download site at the loading screen... and put maybe make a database like the above. Ppl get hooked into this kind of strategic games when they have all the data in front on them in order to plan "strategy".

I saw your post, still don't know how to answer yet.

This map don't have any official site or forum. and www.legionTD.com & forum is belong to LISK, that site is dead after he leave, and some old users in forum feel hostile toward any X3 version map.

I am not really keen at making my own site/forum. and players can find this page easily with googled.

It is very short we quit after lvl 2. after level 1 we do our votes.

so first vote failed and second was wrong 2 i think.

In the end of level 2 units moved back to theur building position.
And nature in the other team stood in the teleportation area but didnt get teleported.

thank, sound like new pathing only work on Red. now, I know which part of code need to fix.

for Votekick, I think I need better message. because it work like this :

8 player : require 4 positive vote to kick (eg, 6 yes, 2 no = 4 positive vote)
6 player : require 3 positive vote : eg, 4 yes, 1 no = 3 positive

this mean vote "No" is quiet useful, and you can't easily kick people if someone else say "No".

Beta 7 is out, I don't have much time to test so I better upload it before I go to bed.

Teleport/Pathing fixed (100% tested)
-hp should fix now? (not enough time to test)

hp happen because host type command before player's "race picker" placed.

if you can host 3v3 before, then let try out 4v4, and let me know if lag still same or better

-hp did not work properly as I played it, some players still had the questionmark
at 4v4 were no special lag only "normal" ones
and at the leaderboard after the game everyone had 0 kills

anyway nice changes

Questionmark mean -HP bug still not fully fixed, but at player can still pick the race picked by host.

hp still doesn't work on beta 7.
after the lvl 10 arena one guy's units (merc) teleported to the king before lvl 11 started, so he had a full leak, but his units defended from the king's side... it's something along these lines, that's what he said happened, and i didnt save the replay (opposite teams)
the wolverines, after teleporting to the king, they walk almost halfway through that path and teleport back after reaching a certain point, usually its just 2-3 wolverines fighting a whole gang of creeps, really kamikaze of them :D they did walk a little in 3.3 and other betas, but then came back, here they just keep going.
on every beta-not sure if on 7 too, didnt have time to see it yet- the moon guard's mana does not regenerate.
will get back to ya after a 4v4 match and see if there are more weird stuff.

I know why -HP is bug now.

It is because they click "Next Page" or "Previous Page" while host do picking.

This will fuck up the -HP and they get nothing at the end !!!


Mecenary after arean : easy fix, I know what cause it !
wolverines on king's hall : Good to know. I disable the walk-back trigger from 3.3 because I though it is not need, will put back.

I don't know because I only played beta7 and 3.3, nothing in between.

btw. How much percent does frost wolf slow? Would be nice, if you add the percentage in the tooltip.

I will spent more time to play real game when it closer to final beta, then I can get real feeling.

in my design, Undead have weak tank, strong dps similar to ghost/element. and player Butcher is must have for tanking, because I don't really want them spam dragon for dps & tank, I may nerfed dragon hp if it happen (and buff butcher's tank ability if need)

I actually played Merc to level 31 after beta5, it is very boring, but still good. it is impossible to change builder now, (you will have to change back to defend).
- if you never change builder (to build some real tower), then you can still defend up to 31, with small leak
- if you used change builder (build something for 2 round, and change back), then you can defend easily, with some spare gold/lumber (it is very boring, because you can't do anything with your spare gold)

overall, Merc become "supporter" in your team, eg:
- upgrade king (you can decide which round is weak, and leak that round)
- mass summon (eg, leak one weak round to save up lumber)

I know u are very buisy right now with fixing lot of things and improving code
but i just wanted to add some things that came to my mind.

I already mentioned marine and ghost some posts ago.
Cause i think marine is very weak. they got so weak long range. hatchling upgrade is good vs boss lvls but eggsack and bottomfeeder are just useless units. and t4 is providing a shield to a unit and the upgrade has a small healing "aoe" but if u compare it to goliath or elder witch doctor it is just a joke. like goliath is providing almost the hole team and this t4 unit only gives a shield to a single unit. same with healing aura.
The Upgrade of commodo is pretty useful cause it is tankie and got medium armor and therefore strong vs magic. But i dont feel like sea giant is useful at all. and its upgrade is hmmm ... u build it to tank a little bit. but compared to other t6 units it is trash. I think sea giant is the worst t6 unit and since this race hasnt got many good units it is just unbalanced.

There is one big problem about ghost called gravekeeper. This unit has very slow attack speed but a nice aura. But it becomes useless vs ranged units.
Pls correct me if i am wrong. but especially in the last waves like 24 28 and 29 i got the feeling that their aura doesnt affect the enemy units cause they are out of their range. Or only a few units are affected.

last but not least something i like to talk about. A game i pretty much influenced by the duration of each wave. I know both teams got the same time to lumber and increase income per round. But I really prefer games that gives more advantage to guys that spend more money on whisps and upgrades. i saw many games where noob teams had 3/0 whisp/upgrade on level 20 and just built units. so every level was pretty short. And it is very hard to manage to get like 7/9 till level 20 with so less time. and u dont got much profit from it.
I dont got a good idea how to improve it. but i really appreciate to benefit players that have a hard time with building many whisps in the beginning. e.g. for every whisp and lumber upgrade u get 2 extra gold per level. so it would affect early game quite well and has almost no influence on late game.

Hope my english is not too bad. since it is 1 o clock in the morning and i just drunk some cocktails :D

@HuanAK - Necro is not good dps anymore. Undead dragon is still good slow + dps. Pudge is so-so tank with only ~1700 hp. No one builds the T1 and T2 undead units.
Yes, Merc is not fun anymore because it's very hard to start as Merc and then change to another race permanently. If you don't change back to Merc, you will leak at the later levels.

@mightym8 - I agree that Marine is a little weak. Overall, Mech/Arctic/Orc are pretty good even up to the last levels. In most games, with those 3 races I can get to 7/10 or 7/11 by level 20. If there's some leak in the game, 7/13 is possible at 20. Shadow/Demi/and Elf are above average. I'm not so good with Nature, but I've seen some good Nature players. Goblin, Element, and Marine are OK races but they are too weak later and always need to change builder earlier. You have to fix Hybrid. There is no big advantage to using Hybrid over Prophet. It just don't make sense to pick Hybrid.

The game influenced by duration of each wave is fine I think. The noob players that just income have a hard time with the later levels and don't have enough wood to send high summons.

--Bugs-
-Moon guard mana doesn't regen.
-creep counter is wrong. All the creep can be dead, but the counter still show's 2 creep alive, and it only counts them dead like 5-8 seconds after the last creep dies.
-creeps get stuck more often now.
-one unit on level 20 team fight still runs out to die before round starts sometimes
-the west side's king disappeared at around 22. It had 0 hp (we never killed him) and the game just kept going.
-Bigfoot does NOT stun anymore. 8 Bigfoots just fought normally without one stun. The Tauren does do quake.
