Legacy of Lordaeron is a custom singleplayer RPG campaign inspired by the Founding of Durotar campaign and World of Warcraft. The gameplay is basically an adventuring and questing style, levelling and unraveling the story. The object of this campaign is to complete quests while developing your heroes' abilities just like in the Founding of Durotar.

Important : Due to the new features implied in this campaign, this campaign will no longer work on any earlier versions of the game below patch 1.29.2. You can download the latest patch of Warcraft 3 via Battle.net or via the Warcraft 3 Launcher. (Requires CD-Keys)
You can, however, download an old version of the campaign which is compatible with patch 1.27a here. (This version will not receive anymore updates)


Note : The Transition among the campaign maps will not work if the filename of this campaign is too long.

Following the death of the Lich King. Sylvanas Windrunner, The Queen of the Forsaken, alongside with her Forsaken army started to take far more aggressive stance in their battle against the remnants of the Scarlet Crusade, the Scourge and the Alliance as they attempt to conquer Lordaeron as their own...

- Transition System : The Transition system works now with multiboards, before stepping into a new zone, a dialogue will ask you either you want/or not to access that zone.
- Fixed a bug which prevent Creep Respawn from working after the Transition.
- The Quest "Slay the Orcs" has now a different feature, You're no longer required to destroy ALL bases. All you have to do now is simply killing the enemy heroes.
- Added 2 more class to play : Death Knight - Hunter
- Fixed a small bug in "Missing Ingredients" quest.
- An improvement in the quests, cinematics description.
- A little bit change of the story.

1.6a : - Added a Drop Item System
- Added two more class to play : Rogue - Warrior
- I made the cinematics transmission a little bit longer.
1.6b : - Changed the Hunter's model.
- Some changes in the DK and Mage skills.
- Fixes in the description and transmissions.
- You are now to able to train Val'kyr in Slay the Orcs quest.

- Major bug fixes and maintenance.
- Fixed two cinematic bugs in Alterac Ruins map.

Released Act Two and Three.

Act One : - Fixed a bug in the Necrolyte's Quest. Black Dragon Claw and Eye of Shadow are now visible.
- Replaced Faranell in the Secret Mission (the underground cave) with Nathanos instead.
- Fixed the Death Knight's Ebon Might ability: It increases the damage by percent instead of a specified number, also this ability affect the DK only.
- Replaced the Hunter's Black Arrows ability with Poison Arrows.
- Replaced the Mage's Meteor Strike ability with Fire Bolt.
- Changed a bit the story of the Blackthorn's bandits.
- Small bug fixes and changes all over the maps of this act.
- Stash in now available in every map, including the sub-maps.
Act Two : - Reworked on all the maps of this act and added 3 new maps.
- Removed the Broken Isles and Den of the Warlock map.
- Replaced Galen's Death Pact ability with Inner Rage.
- Increased the Neutral Hostile units' damage, health and armor.
Act Three : - Map 1 : Changed the design and gameplay style of this map.
- Map 2 : Increased a little bit the Worgen battleships' damage and health.
- Map 3 : The fight with Genn Greymane goes on three bosses instead of fighting him individually.
- Increased the Worgen units' damage and health.
- Removed Ivar Bloodfang and Lord Vincent Godfrey from this map.

- Bug fixes and balance improvement.
- Replaced the Rebel Orcs in Alterac Ruins with Crushridge Ogres.
- Changed the storyline of Act Three to make it similar to WoW : Cataclysm.
- Changed the model of Herod.

- Added a Specialization Selection for each class.
- Reduced the damage of Kill Shot to 750 at level 2.
- Merphist no longer cost food.

- Galen is no longer a controlable/obtainable hero in this act. Instead you will get Grimthos. Grimthos is bonus hero that you can obtain as a fourth hero after compeleting his quest, just like Merphist in Act One.
- Revamped the Battle for Andorhal and added 2 Scourge bases.
- Changed the Bloodfang Lieutenant's model.
- Revamped the first chapter of Act Three and added 2 extra Worgen bases.
- Removed the second chapter of Act Three and replaced it with a mini-dungeon in Act Two.
- Turned the last chapter of Act Three into a macro mission.

- Updated the campaign to make it work with patch 1.30.1.
- Changed the Hero Selection System with a different one.
- Added a shared vision of Brill, Velonara's Camp and the Transition Locations.
- Added a Tomb of Relics in Brill.
- Removed the Blizzard and Mana Siphon from the Spellbook.
- Warlock : Summon Felhunter : Reduced to 1 Felhunter instead of 2, Increased damage and armor; can now be healed.
- DK : Scourge Strike : Fixed the instant kill bug also reduced the extra damage per second and the spell duration.

- Fellson : - Nerfed Elixir of Death ( 150/300/450/600 instead of 200/350/500/600)
- Sludges can now be healed with Elixir of Death.
- Merphist : - Nerfed the chances of Critical Strike to 10% instead of 15%.
- Grimthos : - Changed all his spells except Reincarnation.
- Fixed Grimthos' Exp Cap in Act 2.

- Added a Hero in the undead encampment of the first mission of Act 3.
- Worgen Workers can no longer build structures when possessing them.
- After destroying the Bloodfang and Liberation Worgen bases, the Forsaken will send more reinforcements.

- Fixed the Death Knight's Frost Presence ability.
- Nerfed the Rogue's Adrenaline Rush ability.
- Increased the stats of the items that can be found in Scholamance.
- Improved the Forsaken AI in the last mission of Act 3.
- Nerfed the Worgen units' HP in the last mission of Act 3.
- Changed the model of Merphist and his ultimate.

- Fellson's Summon Sludge ability no longer requires a corpse.
- Replaced the Arcane Mage's Absord Magic ability with Summon Arcane Golem.
- Gold/Lumber will now transition to Act 2.
- Battle for Andorhal : No longer requires to destroy the bases.

- Arcane Blast now deals accurate damage.
- Illusion : No longer take multiple damage, Reduced cooldown from 45 to 30, Reduced mana cost to 75. Illusions can now deal damage to enemy units.
- Evocation can now be used on friendly units/Heroes aswell.

FAQ

- Q : Why do I get a black screen when I try to play this campaign?
- A: That's because you don't have the latest patch of Warcraft 3 installed. You need to update your Warcraft 3 version in order to play this campaign. (Currently it works only on patch above 1.29.2)
- Q: Why do I get back to the menu screen whenever I return from a sub-map?
- A: As I said above. You need to update your Warcraft 3 version to the latest patch.
- Q: If I rename the filename of this campaign, will it cause any bug?
- A: Yes, it will. The campaign transition will not work if the filename of this campaign is too long.
- Q : Why do I get back to the beginning of this campaign when I reload?
- A : It is possible that sometimes the transition will fail and you will get back to the beginning of this campaign, this occur even in Rexxar's campaign, my advice is to always backup your progress or make sure to save regularly to prevent losing your progress.

Edit : Fixed.

- Also added 3 hidden items in Agamand Mills.
- Added classification Undead to the Undead Horse.

Same problem, downloaded it yesterday and I just finished the part with the boat and nothing happens.
P.S. how you did the dark dalaran ruins cliff? I just can't make it work, I changed the tile but the cliff is still purple even after the import. Thanks and gl :D

Also, I forgot to mention Raise Dead from the Archmage Creep isn't working, the corpse dissapears but no skeletons.

Which Archmage are you talking about?

Why is that? I played it and everything works well. I don't understand o_O

Replace the Cliff path to --> ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff1.blp
Also change the path for DRuins_SquareTiles.blp to -->TerrainArt\DalaranRuins\DRuins_SquareTiles.blp

- Dark Wizard, level 8 creep, sees a corpse near him, plays the animation, but no skeletons appear and the corpse dissapears.

- I don't know, they get into the boat, and then nothing happens.. the image goes dark, but the frame remains. I think the VICTORY screen is missing ( the one with Continue & Exit ).

- Ah, ok thanks :D ill try.

i havn't had a chance to play yet... however I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY happy you created this fantastic campaign and the narrative it follows. so with shadows of hatred, rise of the blood elves, curse of the forsaken and Legacy of Lordaeron. We pretty much have a sequel to frozen throne on hive now with events reaching into early Cataclysm story.

Nevermind Forsaken are hands down my favorite race and Sylvanas is probably the best character in the franchise.

Well, It took me a while to find what's wrong with that bug :D I made a quick playthrough and I think I fixed it. I just hope everything works well now. But if the bug still presist let me know ;)

Thanks for showing your appreciation :) I had to remove the original Character list of the NPCs. What I'm thinking now is creating a list of the playable characters describing their class, type, specialization...etc.

- Replaced "Fire Impact" ability of the Mage with Arcane Torrent.
- Fixed a bug which occur in the Hinterlands after the end cinematic.
- Replaced the two Archmage hero (The ones who drops a gem) in Agamand Mills with a Necromancer instead.
- Removed the ping on the plants in "Missing Ingredients" quest.
- Increased the Creep Respawn in Lordaeron Ruins to 10 minutes instead of 6 minutes.
- Increased the Neutral Hostile units damage and armor in Act Two.

Will write a complete changelog once I release version 2.1 :)

Off to great start. Was really enjoying myself! However, I left to Silver Pines, got the ingredients, and then... tried to return to Ruins of Lordaeron. When I tried to return, instead of returning I'm returned to the campaign selection menu and have to start all over again :( Hope this gets fixed, because I'd love to continue.

Glad you fixed it, but can I continue where I was if you updated it? My saves aren't working anymore ( as I expected ). Is there a way to do it or I just have to cheat my way there?:))

Sadly, I don't think there is another way :/ The game cache does not work after you update a map/campaign. Althought, Act two is not too long, so I guess it's not such a big deal. But if you want to use cheats. It's up to you. Do as you like :)

Thanks for the campaign, yesterday i managed to end the last mission playing with the Warrior.

For the bugs, i found two during the campaign, a collar of spell inmunity appears at random in the hero's actions card during figths, maybe something like frost shield, inmolation of stuff triggers that effect.

And during the Scarlet Monastery map, the voiceover changed to the Acolyte's set.

During the Act 2.

We can't return to the map with the Gilnean base and the Broken islands version, and these lacks of the item chest and causes some problems down the way, you can't save some important items for the third hero.

And Gallen enters to the party too late for use him on the second act, and the third act don't have enough good items to equip him as well as we could.

If i could suggest something, why no add the chest at the starting point on every map along with the runestone.

If i could suggest something, why no add the chest at the starting point on every map along with the runestone.
I'm currently developing it :)
What is the recommended version of this campaign? When i switched it to 1.26a in Chapter 2 the story ends in Hinterlands.
I don't know if this is related to the bug which is mentioned before? But anyways. Patch 1.27a is the recommended version to play this campaign.

This will make this act a little bit bigger. In the meantime. I'm developing two maps which will hopefully be released on November or December.

Yeah. Just Water Elementals and Bandits.
Out of curiosity, before you took the Necrolylte's quest. Did you use any kind of cheat like "Iseedeadpeople"? I mean was the map entirely visible before you spoke to the Necroylte? This is probably due to the Creep Respawn issue because when Neutral Hostile units respawn they usually remain invisible when they are visible to the Player...
Edit : It's probably my mistake. I should've just hide/unhide him rather than spawning him instead.

Alright guys, here's a small hint about the "remake" I said I was gonna do for Act Two :

- Added 3 three playable maps.
- Added 12 Main Quests and 3 Optional Quests.
- Hillsbrad Foothill is now the starting zone of Act Two.

Due to the change of the campaign quests chain. I decided to remove the two maps in the Broken Islands because I really have no idea how to fill those maps. As for the Dungeon map (Den of the Warlocks). This map will be replaced with another dungeon map that can be found in the Hinterlands, maybe.

Also. I managed to make the Stash available in every map as requested.

This update will be released perhaps at the end of this year :)

This is really well done! The only negative thing is that for such a great mapmaker you only have 1 map haha

As for my views:

1) Like that hero chosing thing at the start. What's missing is the a) skills , b)some story c) general playstyle of the hero (could be integrated with a small story section).

2)commands like camera lock, camera zoom, text speed are appreciated. The text is just a little to fast for me and a zoomed out camera is always better ( in my view)

3) those scource spiders have borrow. Really hard to kill thim...don't know if it was intended.

4)Ghosts also steal my mercenaries, this 100% should not happen!

Played a lot, until I killed the human ships and got to the new island. I didn't finish it, it got too tedious. Will play it again in the future when more stuff is added.

Overall my view stands. This is a great map.

5)I wish there where more quests. At least 2x more. Most of my time I spend just grinding...too much grinding, the same mobs again and again. After a while it's not a challenge, I just kill everything and thanks to the healer I never die

6) Why 2 INT heroes as companions? Better give the player a choice, maybe the healer is guaranteed but the second companion might be agi/str/int depending on quest choices.

7)Some skills are too boring. Some skills work in a simple way ( I played the death knight), the stun for example. Nothing fancy. The movement speed should be an aura because that guy always runs too fast. Problem is with corruption for example. -2 armor, that's basically a +5 % dmg aura. The atackspeed bonus is also basically the same. Wish for more interesting stuff

8)Same goes for items. I understand what you wanted to do, keep the classicW3 spirit alive so nothing insane. Still after playing W3 for years seeing a claws of attack and other items is not exciting. Other items (even if simple) where pretty cool. More of those!

9) make monsters stronger, or at least give a difficulty option ( maybe even reward the player with unique events,items etc if the harder difficulty is chosen). At the start game was hard, but after enough mana/int/mana regeneration the healer dude made me immortal.

Hope this stuff helps. Ask if u need clarification, played 6+ hours, had a lot of fun with this map!

Finished this today. The earlier points still stand.

10)The first chapter was much better than the last two.
11)Last two chapters where too easy. It was like playing with cheats, I could not die. When I got the lifesteal hero it became even more casual
12)The last hero comes in too late. Couldn't even put artifacts on him.
13)Money was completely useless. I didn't buy a single thing in the whole game.

Overall: Like I said. This is a great map, but it needs more stuff. In the latter game there are so many trash mobs that are there for no reason, I just used cheats to see the map and went arround them. got tired of killing again and again for nothing.

This could be an amazing map, but need to get "more fat". If you double the number of quests, items and events, give players difficulty options and tweak the heroes a bit, this will be a 10/10.

Thanks for the detailed review, mate. And as I said before, I am remaking the last two chapters of this campaign at the moment. This "remake" will improve dynamically the gameplay and story.
About the trash mobs. I use a different Respawn System than the one of Blizzard. For example Rexxar's campaign, the neutral hostile units change according to the level of the hero (When the hero is at low level, the trash mobs are also at low level). I can change that but that will be a very hard work since the mobs are placed directly via the editor not with triggers :/
As for items, I do my best to create new stuff. Althought, I am really struggling to create good items with better effects...

Start stealing ideas! So many W3 maps with hundreds, thousands of items. Just open a random map similar to dota and you will be bombarded with ideas...

Really, I will repeat this. This map is great! but the problem is that other maps exist. If I where to play this 5-7 + years ago it would have been amazing! But now there are many great maps out there...

For example, I really finished the whole map without buying a single item. So much gold but nothing to do with it ! :eek:

If you need a tester or some more advice give a PM. Hope I can do my part to help you out and create an amazing map!

This is an amazing campaign, but seriously unbalanced. It's so hard until you reach lvl4, and when you reach lvl7 It's like playing with "whosyourdaddy" you just go through the map(first map is so fucking HUGE, first map in "Founding of Durotar" is childs play for it). There are other problems like gold, I mean I had almost 30000 gold xD and nothing to spend it on, well It's not like I mind it because drop items are insane xD my alchemist had 200 atk damage with death knights w(random pick), well all of them actually had minimum of 150(stats were insane). I don't actually mind any of that. Only thing that bothers me a little is that you copied "Finding of Durotar" a lot, the story was predictable sometimes.All in all, it was amazing. Looking forward to replying it in future with another class 9/10

I agree with that, the campaign is unbalanced in some cases due to the Hero Selection. You know. In the early version there was no hero selection, it's just one single character (Mage if I remember correct) and the Alchemist. But then, I had complaints from people playing with that class, so I decided to give them a choice of classes. I know, it's quite difficult to play this at the start but then it become much easier when the character is OP. on the other hand. Act one is almost a copy of Rexxar's campaign. When I first started creating this map, I based it on Founding of Durotar campaign, the story was random, and doesn't match with WoW lore, but after playing WoW, I've learned a lot of things which I'm trying to apply on this campaign...
Nonetheless. I will see what I can do to make this campaign much better.

I have nothing against the gameplay, based on the Bonus Campaign or not, you did a good job
However, there is some small bugs
In chapter 1, the Necrolyte event didn't trigger the boss/item in the eastern and southeastern side, I could only obtain one from the murlocs in the west.
The Deathknight's Unholy Presence only boost 10% MS and 10-20-30-40% AS, but the skill description says the MS increases each level. My suggest is you should use Endurance Aura for him to boost his allies as well.
Ebon Might in the level 2-3-4 no longer boosts the AD to nearby heroes, while it did at level 1
Army of the Dead at level 2 only give bonus dmg to the Ghouls, whose HP is kinda low to endure the latter mobs, I mean, having priests cast 1 dispel magic and ur ult will become useless.
In chapter 3, I think you should replace Godfrey with Darius Crowley, since Godfrey is the enemy of both sides and Crowley is the high-rank general in Gilneas Army.

I found gameplay quiet tedious for two reasons:

sometimes enemies are overpowered

resurrection stones and respawning creeps add nothing to gameplay, besides grind. they also give you, the creator, space to completely screw the balance up while keeping it possible to beat the game


there are also some lesser issues - like hero ability balance and set (why would i need dark arrows when i get that alchemist guy with sick oozes? etc) - and unnecessary big maps (bigger doesn't mean better - i've enjoyed smaller instances a whole lot more)

please consider when making your next map : )

sorry for ruining positive vibes in the comment section - maybe it's just my impression and everyone else enjoyed gameplay more


updt: as I see the campaign in good PRG fashion turns into a power-fantasy towards the end. i didn't get that far

It's a nice campaign but i can't get the other two items, dragon scale and eye of shadow in act 1 additionally there is no act 3 in my game, i already check the version of my warcraft 3 it's the latest one... is there anything i can do to fix it???

Hi, I'm sure this is a bug related to the patch (I'm using the current Bnet patch 1.28), but when I go through silverpine forest all I can find is the briarthorn herb. I've gone through the entire map but that seems to be all I could find? Not sure if that was because I cleared the bottom part with my main hero by using kelens dagger until i figured out i could use death and decay on the trees :p Done the rest of the map including the two optional quests.

You are probably playing the oldest version of this campaign, but I don't know what caused that bug. I am using patch 1.27a. Did you try to view the whole map using the cheat "iseedeadpeople" and you still didn't find them?
Something went probably wrong or maybe the script is broken as you said, because Kelen's dagger and Death and Decay are removed in the current version.

Are you trying to report to Koltira? You're supposed to go back to the main Arathi Highlands map and talk to Galen in the camp you started the chapter in.

I don't understand your question, Are you saying that you can't get to Andorhal?

I am trying to report to koltira deathweaver however i cannot "report" to him. and i tried what Lurker245 said but it didnt work anyway
