If you go on and look at the member list (hiveworkshop.com/forums/memberlist.php) then order them by last visit, it will show everyone that was on today.

But if you go to the last page then look all the way down, there are people that last visited at 12-31-1969!!!

I clicked on Magical Warrior (the member all the way at the bottom) and it said:

Then I looked to the right and it said:

Last Activity: 12 - 31 - 1969

Lol!!

Is this some joke or something?

It's because the unix timestamp is zero, which defaults to the unix epoch (January 1st, 1970) offset by whatever timezone you have set in the forums.

This is probably due to a user account import or some such default value that hasn't been set yet. When the user actually logs in, it should reset to the correct date.
