Cool.
You may have played a much earlier version, there have been at least 20 versions since the first one which was in June of 2004. I have spent as many hours balancing than actually making the map (which took a lot of time).
Most likely if an ability looks imbalanced, its an ultimate, and pretty much every ultimate has a counter. Like if it was a channel ultimate that did great damage to units, you could try to stun him or focus fire on him.
Just to let you know, new in about 1 version ago, armor upgrades for units hit points instead of actual "armor" so that they can take more hits from both attacks and magic.
If you still think something is imbalanced, tell me and I will check it out at once.
