Just need some feedback on this (hope the link works).

1. Is it approvable?

2. If not, why?

3. If you answered no. 2, how?

texture still needs work and leg is bent in attack anim. Also, there are a lot of unused bones that you could remove to cut down on filespace

My model got rejected because of the texture and the legs in the attack anim, so if you could especially suggest how to fix that, it would be good.

The model is passable, the texture definitely needs more work, the head should be redone, judging from the pictures provided it's not right, it should look more dinosaurish. That's what I think, I hope you can make it better, good luck.

man, for one thing you're taking advice VERY badly, I get a sense that you're protective over this model. This model just isn't that great man, there isn't much you can do to improve it because it's based off the wrong model, and for some reason you seem to be avoiding fixing the poor skin. Even if you did fix the skin just the general shape of the model is wrong for a jackal completely. "I'm not trying to make an exact replica" is just a lame excuse, of course you're trying to make an exact replica. Why else would you make halo models? You love halo therefore you're trying to make models from it, if you don't want to make exact replicas then make your own unique and creative models! But as far as this model goes, it's really nothing special, and you aren't really taking the advice at hand, no wonder it didn't get aproved. If you want to improve, you should take the constructive advice people give you and keep working.

1. You're giving advice VERY badly. Below is why;
2. Tell me, what constructive advice have I been given? Here are the posts that actually help:
though he didn't tell me how I should fix it
this comment was very good.
The rest, alongside with yours, have been no help at all. Even anarchianbedlam only told me to make a Satyr.
3. I know that, I didn't say it was great. I can't fix the skin with comments like 'more detailish'.
4. No, it isn't a lame excuse. It's the truth. Nobody notices/cares about a bent leg ingame, in Wc3!
5. I make models for fun. Why do you go to random people's thread, then criticize them without helping or making a valid point?
6. If you can't post constructive comments, don't post at all.
7. I know it is not special, and as said, I have had barely any advice, and none from you. Now you are insulting my model, which I admit is below decent, though this does not give you the right to say 'no wonder it didn't get aproved'.
8. If you want to post, make sure you post properly.

Ghost. take a deep breath. itl be ok, caaaalllmmmm...

we told you what needed to be changed, but we didnt tell you "how". We assumed that you would read tutorials or find out for yourself. I'm sorry I cant hold your hand all the way in telling you how to make the legs and the face and the texture look decent. I'm just lazy like that. But with a little elbow grease and ingenuity, im sure you can figure it out. I didnt learn how to make models overnight, it took months of dicking around in magos and warforger and milkshape trying out all the buttons and different settings to figure out how best to create something.

My advice, is to get warforger, magos v1.07 and notetab light (or just regular windows notepad) and start learning to to directly move around bones and animation keyframes in .MDL text format.

warforger

Magos v1.07

NoteTab light

and if you're feeling lucky and have some spare change from your christmas money, try
Milkshape

Those are the programs i've used, and that is how i taught myself to model. HOPE THAT WAS HELPFUL BRRROOOOOOO. and happy holidays

Actually, the only people that told me what needed to be changed are Total_Warrior and Ampharos (and you told me in the model page). The other posts were either spam (refer to post 5 and 21) or not helpful (refer to post 7 and 15).
For the texture, I don't need to know how obviously, but for the model, I do and must.
Thanks for the advice, I will have a look at Warforger.
