Is there any way to import .midi files?

Because they are a jillion times smaller than .mp3. The sounds/music are only around 10-20 KB, which is usually 10 times less than any model, so it'd be nice to have them in. I've heard you can do it, and I found some tutorial using the search function but it was really...odd and didn't explain itself well.

Thanks in advance,

If you're going for a multiplayer map, you probably can't use it because you can never know if someone "installed" the mod or not. Asking everyone to install it will ceertainly decrease popularity.
If you're going or single player: hey, just use mp3 then, it's way easier
