[Spell] Is it possible to make an upgrade a hero Ability?

Hello guys, i was wondering, is it possible to make an upgrade a hero Ability?
For example, i tried once to make a hero ability that increase the range of a unit using the Human Ability "Long Rifles" but it didn't worked.

Have you any advice on how to do it? Thanks

The ability itself doesn't really do anything. It's the upgrade that bestows the increased range. You'd likely need to make the hero unit use the upgrade and then apply it using a trigger whenever the ability is leveled up.
