Is getting gauges a good idea?

So, after freshman year, I'm thinking of getting gauges. I have never got my ears pierced. The reason why I want to get gauges is because I will probably be the first boy in my family/generation to get piercing. Also it cool....
I don't know the sizes of the gauges, but I know I want small ones, big ones look scary. I know I'm getting size smaller than water bottles cap.
Anyway do you think it would be a good idea to get gauges or not? Is there any cons with getting ear piercing?

Well if you're serious about getting gauges then talk to a member called Red (previously known as Red Shift). He has gauges/tunnels.

I've got an earring in my left ear, and are currently considering getting an industrial in my right (or even left?) ear.

Personally I find gauges, if that's their name in English, to be damned well ugly.
- But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Any con I can come up with on the fly about getting a piercing, as long as it's only in the earlobe you're going to pierce, is to make sure you're not alergic to anything you put into it.
Appart from that, it's all good, painful, but good.

Gauges will ruin how your ears look(should you decide to get rid of them)here are two things about them
they really don't look that cool
All people(erm, the majority of people, especially future employers) will see is the big round things in your ears that detracts from your natural good looks.

this is my opinion on the matter so it isn't worth much, but remember 20+ years from now you may want to get rid of them and you will have a hard time doing so(you would need plastic surgery to make your earlobes look right)

Try, for example, just being cool (confidence, charisma, intelligence, compassion, power).

Well I think it looks more or less cool in young boys, but after adolescence it becomes sort of weird and IMO bad looking.
