Hey there!

I came to this idea a few days ago since I'm a musicmaker in real life and wanted to try out making rpg'ish music.
Let's see if you like it!

3 songs.

Song1: Forest Troll theme.
Song2: Human city theme.
Song3: Human city theme aswell.

See if you like it:D
It took me like an hour to make so it's not really impressive but if people got requests I might make something more impressive.:D

Whoa. Sounds awesome, i liked it. The second one sounds a bit like a music in RuneScape. I think the third one is the best.

...They're excellent.

Thanks:D
When I get time I try to make them a bit better on the timing or make a few small new ones.
I got a great idea for a profession in my RPG where players would be able to play notes on an instrument and when they play a certain combination of notes a song starts with a special effect. (bit like zelda's ocarina)
And I would make all small songs with this program.

Nubmer 2 is a WoW song.
Number 1 sounds like something I heard in Runescape(a mix, actually, but the beginning is almost exactly like Mudskipper Mellody in RS :/ )

Yep although I (luckily) never played Runescape. And I also never heard of Mudskipper Melody aswel lol.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I usually dislike heavily–percussion-based ensembles, with the exception of one or two of WC's "themes." These aren't bad, but they could use some polishing, mainly in the velocity and envelope fields. It would also be nice to see some expansion--these are just little themes, and I think that themes need to be set up before they can really be effective. But meh, that's just my opinion.

I think the best one is number three, but that's probably because the lead is cello-esque. ;)

Yeah totally right. But once again it was something I made in something like an hour. Didn't really go deep into it.

Holy crap, you're running Cubase? I've heard some good things about it. I'm running a crappy Sonar HS 7 Academic Edition with More Discounts for Being Extremely Outdated with crappy Garritan Pocket Orchestra (oddly enough, I find that Sonar is quite good, but maybe just because I've never tried any other studio... though I think it's like a mirror image of Cubase, since I did the trials and all).

...I also suck with a MIDI controller, though. Maybe because I'm using onboard sound and the buffer has to be pushed to oblivion to make it manageable, and then the quality goes out the door. Writing in the notes is always more... eh, iDunno. Better, for me at least (but I'm also more used to it). More better, there we go.

tl;dr: I need to L2Controller, I guess.

Yeah well my dad is a drummer and had this cubase version already. I started using it as a kid because I got interested in music. Now I'm in the first grade of a dutch conservatory studying bassguitar and just do wc3 + this as a hobby. Because I did this alot as a kid I know how to handle the piano a bit so always write my songs at cubase but now I decided to combine wc3 with my profession and it's quite fun for a change.:D

Those musics are good. But they are all too short. Game music usually lasts longer.

True.
I actually made this for a class in my game that was able to play different notes in the order he wanted. With certain note combinations he would activate songs that would be like 5-10seconds long. Magical songs. Like Zelda's ocarina songs.

That was my idea however because of the filesize I decided not to do it.

Your little compositions there sound really nice. They already have a nice loop effect, yet, as Rui said, if they were longer it would even increase.

That sounds like a really nice idea. Couldn't you compose simple and short loops which could be sticked to each other in multiple ways, if you know what I mean. Depending on the note combination the order of the loops played changes. Just a thought, would probably be hard to assemble, though, I guess.

That would be too hard to record. This means when i start recording it should immediatelly play the sound then when its done i should immediatelly stop recording. Ofc this oculd be done with a computer program but cba to do that meh... Maybe I could try things out later on.

Cubase has a rip to audio option, doesn't it?

Also, I hate loops. :x

What do you mean rip to audio?
And if you hate loops you probably hate all music there is because there excists no music withoud loops. If you listen mozart, Red hot Chili peppers or Miles davis it will always have loops.
