Hi everyone
(welcome and please wait a sec for images to upload)
(welcome and please wait a sec for images to upload)
I would like to play a Life of a Peasant, just like in the good old days. I really miss these maps.
I have my own hostbot functioning on Battle.net I mean there's no hosting problems for me.
All I need are players
let me remind you that LOAP have been probably the most edited custom maps on Warcraft III.
What are LOAP maps ?
Life of a Peasant
The version I'm gonna talk about is for me the funniest, most complete and noob-friendly. It is the Life of a Peasant Dynasty Warriors, also known as Life of a Peasant Japanese Emperor

This version contains the amazing high definition Japanese units

The map also contains cool custom spells for everyone ! (here some examples)

Let me remind or explain to you the gameplay
The map contains
5 Citizens (equivalent to Peasants in most of versions)
1 Shogun (equivalent to Police in most of versions)
1 Spice Trader (equivalent to Drug Lord in most versions)
1 Rebel (equivalent to Mafia in most versions)
1 Weapons Dealer
1 Ninja
1 Emperor
1 Shogun (equivalent to Police in most of versions)
1 Spice Trader (equivalent to Drug Lord in most versions)
1 Rebel (equivalent to Mafia in most versions)
1 Weapons Dealer
1 Ninja
1 Emperor
It also contains secret Gods who are optional
The role of each characters
The Citizens (or Peasants)

5 players embody the citizens. Their role is to get jobs in order to get money. With that money they can buy many things such as spices from the Spice Trader (that allows them to level up or to up their skills), weapons from the Weapons Dealer, strong units from the Weapons Dealer (in order to make an army), spellbooks from the Weapons Dealer (some containing very strong spells), buildings from the Weapons Dealer (in order to build their own base, upgrade their units or conquer lands), buy houses, cars, planes, pets, and so on, adopting children and a lot more.
Example of jobs
Daimyo (known as Mayor or President in most of versions)
That job is usually the players favourite as it's a high paying job that doesn't require to do anything. Also the Shogun can allow the Daimyo to create new laws (for example to legalize Spice)
Post Officer
Deliver mails around the map
Garbage Cleaner
Clean garbages around the map
Spice Runner
Work for the Spice Trader and deliver Spice to customers for him
Firefighter
Extinguish fire arond the map
Rebel apprentice
Help the Rebel in his task (that job provides you a small army)
Goldmine exploitant
Send slaves to goldmines and kill rebelious slaves to prevent a rebelion
Cult Leader (That one is an illegal job, which means the Shogun will chase you)
Find adepts, sacrifice them in order to cash in their life insurance
And many other jobs...

The Shogun

He's role is to maintain order in the city by fighting against the Spice Trader, the Weapon Dealer and the Ninja who create havoc. Also to chase Citizens who would commit crimes (buying illegal spice, weapoms, mercenaries, but also driving without a license or disobeying The Emperor). The Shogun can either kill his targets (who will revive of course) or arrest them and put them in jail (temporary).
The Spice Trader

He's role is to harvest (illegal) spices and sell them to other players. Spices allows to level up or up skills. The Spice Trader can also use spices for himself and become very strong. As he has the monopoly on the spice market he can set prices that he wants (usually 500 or 1000 gold for a level up). Thanks to gold he earns by selling spices he can invest in more spice harvesters to develop his business, upgrade they're ability to harvest spice, create good units, upgrade them and also buy weapons and mercenaries from the Weapons Dealer. The Spice Trader can also pay the Rebel in exchange for protection if that one agrees.
(The Spice Trader is usually the most popular character as he has a lot to do and can become very strong)
The Rebel

He's role is to kill the Shogun, the Emperor and the Ninja. He can count on an alliance with the Spice Trader and the Weapons Dealer. Also he can hire an apprentice and try to convince Citizens to join forces with him against his opponants.
The Weapons Dealer

He's role is to sell swords, mercenaries, special units, wings (to looks stylish), base construction items and spellbooks (some with Gods spells) to players. He only has these items therefore he can decide prices he wants.
Here an example of swords and wings

The Ninja

He's role is to kill everyone that cross his path, except for the Emperor. The ninja hates everyone but the emperor. He thinks Japan became too decadant and a return to traditional values should be established.
The Emperor

He's role is to govern the city. He can decide of the laws and count on the Shogun to protect him. Also the Emperor has to eliminate the Rebel. The Emperor is very rich and powerful.
(secret) Gods (optional)
(The strongest hero ever made on Wacraft 3 ?)

Citizens can become Gods. Gods are extremly strong and their objective is not to kill everyone (please no abuse of power). Their objective is to balance the game and help players with difficulties. The main God belong to neutral, but can be manipulated by Citizens. Therefore we don't know who is using him.
Thank you for reading
That's it !
I hope this short description made you want to play this map !! If you're interested or have any question or comment, please post a message here, send me a private message or an email at [email protected]
