i need some help

Alot of people also stack the Elevator doodads on top of eachother via Shift-Click (for placing, almost completely ignores destructable pathing upon destructable placement) and Ctrl+Pageup/Ctrl+Pagedown to raise/lower the elevators to the correct height. (This is only if you want to have fairly good looking stairs -- for your average cliff in the middle of nowhere, a stairs doodad or the ramp tool should suffice)

you should use what looks best for the surroundings. If its in a city or something, then I'd use the elevator steps, since they kind of fit in. If it's in a dirt/grass area, Id use the Terrain Palette ramp tool, so it fits in with the tiles a bit. most of the doodads fit into cities, too.

This can be done using a trigger with the "create floating text" action. And you should just make your own thread for this in the future.
