HUGE model size.

I've just imported a model from another game, and all I've got is a HUGE size model of about 1 MB. And I don't want this to happen as it wastes important map size.

I'm using Magos' model editor to import the model and all the stuff.

I used it. It just gave me the same size of the original.

Reduce the quality of the textures, remove unnecessary animations and remove unnecessary nodes.

Well, I'll tell ya: the nodes can't be removed because all of them screw up the model if removed. That's all I can say.

From another game? If so, serves your right and the issue is the the amount of keyframes set (detail of animation), there is so many its increased filesize.

Yes, it's from a Quake 2 skin.

Anyways, is there another way to import it without having all those frames?

My best guess for you is to have someone redo all of the animations for you, or do them yourself.

MDX Sqiusher works by zeroing less important bytes. To see ANY effect of filesize decrease, you must compare files AFTER importing them to map.

Ok, I left the model above if someone wants to do it. If else, it seems I have to do it myself.

Sheesh, Quake II's vertex animated and Warcraft III isn't.

I did some experiments just for a larf one time, even the smallest bad-guys in Quake II won't import to less than 500Kb.

Why don't you import from quake I ?

I doubt the files would be as large.

Quake I used sprites, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell you could even consider getting that working in Warcraft.

Wrong. Quake I used MDL files, but they rendered like they were sprites though.

MDLs are some kind of data forming a model I think.

I'm also thinking of implementing the Marine model's animations and bones on Caleb, which is kinda impossible for me. Would you reccommend me a way to transfer bones from one model to another?
