How to Modify Unit Colors?

I have some programs for it : 3DS MAX ; Modifier ; Viewer. But i wanna change the color from (in example : a footman). Have someone a answer for me?

you need texturing program such as gimp/paintshop/photoshop, to modify TEXTURE
