How to make doodads float?

Can someone show me how to make a normal doodad like a rock or shrub appear to float in mid air?

Set the doodad elevation height?

Yeah i thought it was that simple but even when i set Elevation Sample Radius and/or Occlusion Hight to max it makes the doodad only half a cliff level off ground at most.

Occlusion height has nothing to do with how high the doodad is - that affects which units can see over it.
