Heya guys im quite new here, and i was wondering if anyone could help me workout how to make the in game camera follow the cursor, but the camera source is in the same position, if its possible atall... thanks.
EDIT: I see that you posted while I was typing. If you want a sniper map, you can look for a map on wc3sear.ch (in spell section), dunno if was imported at hive yet. There you can take a look, how it is made.
DO NOT DOUBLE POST! There is an edit button. . .
YES it is impossiable in normal wc3 since you can not get cusor cordinates.
NO it is not impossiable since on WC3 campains someone made a FPS engine that could detect mouse location but I do not think it is what you are after sadly.
Try rethinking your basic engine since it is definatly impossiable in multiplayer.
Right, well what i was thinking was... you know snipers look through the scope, i was trying to make it so when you look through the scope you use the mouse to aim and shoot at your enemys, i managed to make a scope system, but atm i have to use the arrow keys to move the scope rather than the mouse(which is what i would rather use).
YOU CANT MOVE YOUR CAMERA TOGETHER WITH MOUSE (unless you know jass trick which is supported only by single player, but then again you will never understand it unless you learn 100% jass) DEAL WITH IT!!!
the only way to detect mouse is using trackables....but i bet it will lag alot making trackables fill all the map...as said above, if you dont know jass then you have to do something else
Trackables are dummy objects that when you put a cursor on them will trigger an event. It is very complicated. I don't know nothing more than you. And have you found this? http://www.wc3campaigns.net/forumdisplay.php?f=596
