[Spell] How to make burning effect?

Hi all , i have flamethrower unit in my map , i want to make enemies suffer burning damage after they getting hit by the flamethrow but i dont know how , i have tried burning oil and liquid fire but it just doesnt have any effect.

Use things like wyvern rider Envenomed weapons or dryad Slow poison (remove the slow), make the buff look like a flamy thing and voilà

Maybe you would also need to enable status effects on buildings in the gameplay constants.
I vaguely remember there being some weird interaction with visible effects and that one setting.

that would just affect 1 target right? i need it to be an aoe for any unit that gets hits by the flamethrower

Oh, then liquid fire should work, but your unit's attack type needs to be missile (splash) and you have to remove the structure tag from the allowed targets of the ability itself
