HOW TO make a nice chain mail

Personally, I'd try multiple wobbly horizontal white lines, with two shades of grey inbetween them to create a silvery effect.

a. search a chain mail pattern on google - image search

or

b. try to create a single ring of the armor and dublicate it...(photoshop)

c. dont forget the shading cause chain mail sucks on skins when the shanding is missing

Instead of copying from primary sources, why don't you try working from primary sources

when i make chain mail, (photoshop) i first select the part to put the chain mail one, and then i color it all black and put the opacity to around 70%-80%.
Then i take the old brush tool and put the brush size to the smallest (pixles) and i make tiny circles on the black area. I'm not gonna take credit for this. I read in some tutourial somewhere.

way to do chainmail ? find an image of one -> clone brush -> clone the chain mail to your image and shade it to fit in.
