How to get a monitor with comparable resolution to Retina 15"?

Hi,

How would I go about getting a monitor that has the same resolution as the MacBook Retina 15" but is larger than 15" ?

Well I went on Amazon for 4K screen and apparently a lot of these monitors have higher price tags than even buying a MacBook Pro Retina (that includes the Retina display as well as a functional computer...).

I guess this is a fool's errand of mine.

You want the specific pixel density of the retina screen or just the same resolution.

Also, Apple has no 4K devices, the one you are referring to is probably the 2560x1600.
