How do I use this bug?

Hello everyone,

So apparantly there is this bug that causes risen terrain to cut off half the grid that's covered with a tileset.
I guess a lot of terrainers have already figured out how to make this occur.

Here is an example:

I have done this a lot of times already but it only seems to appear at random for me.

I do know that it has something to do with raising 3 vertexes of 1 grid causing one vertex to stay at the bottom to split the tile in half by cutting it down.

The problem is, it doesn't always seem to work as shown in the screenshot.

I think this has quite some potential for a cliffpath on a mountain.

If you already know the answer on how to cut it off on every single edge then please, do elaborate :)!

Here's an example of using this bug to create small cliffs:

Also: the first picture was done with using Miscdata.txt

Try using the plateau tool, that should give you the desired effect as far as I know. It will level an area in accordance to the height of the terrain that you are clicking on. So for example, you can cut hills in half to make a weird stiff cliff thing.

I know how to use the plateau tool, but how does that change this situation?
Raising/Lowering gives the exact same results as using the plateau. All I'm asking is how I would cut the grid's tile in half EVERY time, instead of at random...
Using the plateau tool or Raise/Lower does not make any difference since the same can be accomplished, it's just a little bit faster then usual.

If you look at the screenshots and read through the entire post then you'll see that I'm not simply asking about how to cut off hills,
but I'm showing that in screenshot 1 even though I've done exactly the same on each edge.
Only 2 of the 4 edges have cut off tiles. I want to accomplish this on every edge...
Now if I use raise/lower or plateau that doesn't matter since the same get's accomplished. I just need to know how to make this bug appear all the time instead of at random.

EDIT: Okay so apparantly this only seems to work for upper right and lower left corners.
Is there any way to make it work for upper left and lower right corners too?
Here is a small test I did to see how it happens:

Grid version:

Notice how the grid is exactly the same?

I don't know why it happens though :S
Is there someone who could explain it to me?
