[General] how can i make an upgrade change armor type

i know about the field in the object editor but that does not work for some reason. i have configured the upgrade to change armor type to fortified but nothing happens when i try to research it other than the upgrade number on the building changing.

Try changing the armor type to "Medium". That should change it to fortified. I'm not sure why the armor type change field is all scrambled. Someone else might have to answer that for me.

On a side note, if you don't want a "1" to be added to your armor for this type of upgrade, change the upgrade Class to None.

i want the buildings to start without armor and then go to fortified through research. i tried medium armor but then it changed to divine. seems that blizzard messed up somewhere. how can i fix this issue.

Use the transfrom ability of headhunters, and transfrom your building with no armour to building with armor, and so on.

that is a version of chaos. i will use it as a last resort though because buildings are part of a tech tree. any better suggestions?

your map have no tech tree but mine do. chaos replace one unit with another and that will ruin it if the replaced unit is a tech tree requirement.

The armor upgrade works in an odd way afair, you need to tinker a bit with it.
It actually works, just for some cases it doesn't always matches with what OE writes and what the result ingame.

not working. those directly crash the game when trying to access whatever unit it is used on. when unarmored is set as armor, armor types upgrades does nothing. what kind of defense is the weakest?
