Introduction:
Hostile Territory is a 3rd-person shooter map designed for Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. It has a unique birds-eye view style and interface. What makes this map the Ultimate Shooter? It contains modes, maps and weapons like no other map. I have been working on this map for over a year. Try to respect that I put loads of work into it and that I am solo-mapping it (IN GUI, DUM-DUM-DUM).
Maps like Toy Soldiers and Sharpshooter have persuaded me to venture into the Wc3 Shooter map genre, so I owe them for the inspiration.

Gameplay:
Hostile Territory's gameplay shall be unrivaled by any other Shooter map for Wc3. Below are 5 reasons why:

1. Character control - you control your character with keyboard only, using arrowkeys and hotkeys.
The controls are:
Left/Right/Up/Down Arrows - move in the selected direction
Q - activates/uses certain objects
W - charges/releases a grenade throw
E - fires your weapon
R - switches between your 2 weapons
V - swings your knife around

2. Atmosphere - custom music, custom UI, even a custom map selection system!

3. Maps, maps, maps! - 4 planned maps shall be installed, and you will use a unique map selection system as mentioned beforehand to select your map:
Warehouse - a dark, creepy abandoned warehouse. Small and mazey.
Pondpark - vast empty parklands. Mixed, has open and tight areas.
Roadway- admist the road of an empty street. Direct, open and mazey.
Seashore - situated on the coast of an island. Large and open.

4. Modefest - 4 modes are planned to be implement:
Survival - the good old hold your bloody ground whilst hordes of enemies swarm at you. Has difficulty and Zombie mode.
Hostility - engage in a firefight between two teams. Has optional winning score and Gang Ups mode, which allow killed players to switch teams.
Capture the Frag - take the enemy's frag 'nade and return it to your base! Has optional winning score and Volatile mode, which makes the frag explode when being held for too long.
Open Season - one player is the 'hunter' that must hunt down every other player. Has Stalker mode that turns the hunter invisible.
Typing -end will end the current round.

5. Ammu-nation - THERE ARE NO STUPID CLASSES. THIS IS A SHOOTER, NOT A FRIGGIN' RPG! I HATE SHOOTERS WITH CLASSES! A variety of unique weapons that you can find:
M9 Beretta
M4 Carbine
M16 Combat Rifle
M26 Shotgun
MG4 Machine Gun
RPG-7
Flamethrower
Frag Grenade
You may carry 2 different weapons at a time, and also you start with your knife. There are 2 types of Grenades, and you may carry 4 of each at max.
Items are available as well, such as Adrenaline and Stimpacks.
Guns, however, are found around the map. In survival mode, they are dropped by creeps. All items can be picked up from the ground as well.

6. Losing Count! - So many awesome features, I've forgotten the 6th and last one! It supports multi-player and single-player! However, the only mode in single-player is Survival.

Terrain - 25%, I have finished 1 map, Warehouse
Triggers - 85%, finished most systems
Object Data - 99%, pretty much done
Misc (like art, UI etc) - 97%, room for improvement

I was WONDERING why NOONE was coming up with the same 3rd person birds eye arrow thing yet. Ive been working on a map like this for a few months, and it seems like noone can really recreate a third person shooter. Im actually working on an FPS.

Third Person Shooters are easier to make than FPSes. And FPSes are impossible in Wc3.

No they arent, multiplayer yes, it is impossible as far as I know, but like I said "im working on an fps right now." Its works and everything. I did it by attaching the camera as far close to the head as possible then i shrunk the character so his head isnt in front of the camera, then I took a gun attachment and sized it and attached it to the characters origin, but its edited to the point where I moved it to the far upper left so you have a gun. Looks just like an fps, but it would look gay multiplayer, because its really just a midget with a massive gun hovering over his upper left. Just doesnt go up n down.

Ghost, someone suggested you to improve the turning rate, as it has been hard to aim, and yes, i also agreed with him, make something so that we could shoot whats behind us quickly, such as 180 turn skill. or just simply make the units face the other side faster.

its just too slow to match my movements.

Nice map, still I have some suggestions

-Did you play Snaky's Toy Soldiers map? Why don't you try making light and sound everytime you shoot? And there's no animation playing when shooting, I think you should fix that
-There's an awesome Knife spell but with no knife, I think you should make this appear (attached to the character) and then dissapear everytime you press 'V', there's no need of any animation

Stop talking about Sharpshooter
ive tried modding sharp shooter, and it did came out well, it was fully fps (which i made)
but as ghost said, FPS with FULL flexibility is IMPOSSIBLE, so don't talk about fps here.
i've even used Counter Strike's XM8 Model implemented all fps systems, but it just won't work, so give up before it's too late, for fps makers :D

now lets get BOT!

I can make light, I guess, and I've already added sound! For each weapon!
This map is a Wc3 arcade map, do I really have to make an attack anim?

Once again, I'm not aiming to add every detail in. The point is gameplay is better than polish (eg. DotA).

Okay, Ghost. My bro and I played this on Multiplayer (0.6b I think) and after a while, the movement kinda screwed up. After pressing up, it didn't move up, so I had to repeatedly press it again.
Also, after a few respawns, I had two weapons on my command menu. A berreta and an M16. If I used the Fire command, it would fire the M16, and if I used the Switch Weapon command, it switches to the other weapon I had (Not the Beretta).
Also, there seems to be a slight tendency for the RPG to miss, but it is super-kickass when you team-kill. :D
 
as i have said again, i made a damn arrow key movement like this, it works just fine multiplayer.
Believe it or not, I have too. Here. It works right? That might be because there aren't a million other systems which are ongoing in the same time, unlike in HT.

However, thank you and I will take a look (b'glad if you could also check for any irregularities).

I played it in single player (with zombie mod) and I don't like the idea of having to move in some direction before i can shoot there.
It would be nice to be able to shoot with left or right clicks, but then it would be annoying to throw nades with some hotkey on the other side of the keyboard, so you'd have to put them in inventory slot 5 or so.
I had the same problem in my zombie map so I remained with w3's auto-shooting :/
