Hive Workshop Interface Contest - Discussion

I don't know, if anybody did, or suggested it before, or if its even possible to do this, but i'm posting the idea anyway.

There was Icon contests for this site, and when I discovered that you can change the style of the paged, the idea immediately came to my mind: Why don't we do an interface contest?

It would be about making the borders, the header, text colors, and the background of course.

For the entries, contestants could upload screenshots, or demonstrate the style in their own profile page.

I don't know if many ppl would be interested in it, i just came up with the idea.

So what do you think about a hive stylemaking contest?

That's an phenomenal idea! I'm not able to create an interface, but i would love to see what other brains could create. There are so many creative people here - i just wondered why there are so less interfaces here.

very unique idea you had there chap! i'm really getting bored with this night elf theme and starcraft is pretty much plain for my taste.

lesse here, i'm thinking of diablo 3.

We have a somewhat similar Idea, on the hive's banner contest. unfortunately only uhmmm 2-3 people submit a submission.

A THW UI would take a tad bit too long to create.

What about a Warcraft UI competition? Or a Campaign Screen competition?

I second the notion for Warcraft UI contest. we seriously lack these.

Although there is about 12 User Interfaces on the Hive, I still think we lack them. So, how about starting a new tradition: User Interface Contest?
Every contest would have a theme, like:
-Ancient
-Underground
-Divine
-Demon
...

For the first contest, I have this idea:

Original WC3 race
Contestants should make an UI for Human, Orc, Night Elf or Undead race.

I was thinking more of a remake of the original UIs (Human, Orc, Undead, Night Elf) of which you can choose one to redesign.

You guys realize a retexture of the WC3 UIs belongs to the Texturing Contest, right? And we've even had UI as a theme for one of the contests before.

Mmmm maybe there won't be too much submissions.. UI design is quite hard, and that's why we lack them..

I completely support the Hive UI contest.
Also, Warcraft UI was already done.
It would be cool if the top 3 or so were made into an official UI of the hive.

... but I think that it shouldn't be a remake of the normal four skins... I hate how all of you guys say that the Warcraft skins suck... What is there to edit in those skins? They are perfect. Anyway, I like the ancient, divine and demonic idea.
