[General] Hero Glow problem

I'm not sure where this post fits. I have an old Hero glow model from somewhere which generally works fine for non-hero units. However, once I reload a save game, it ignores the customized team color and just reverts back to regular team color, regardless if the custom color is set in the unit's art or done by trigger. I've tried looking up something that's not brutally aggressive glow but found nothing. Is there any recent working glow model or should it be done via trigger?

1.26. Are you saying reforged models are compatible with the old game?
Ah, you're in the stone age, so no.

It's just that people are often mistaken and believe that they need to buy Reforged in order to update to the latest patch which is not true. Anyway, that model could be an HD-only asset even if you did update, not sure.

But anyway, that model MAY be an HD-only asset, but there's always a chance that it exists in both, you'd probably only need patch 1.31/1.32 to access it.
I'm hesitant to patch in the middle of campaign making because the changes could mess up things that made by the older version. I'm also not sure whether the new patch would render my game unplayable as this game was installed a long time ago from uncertain origin.

Don't do it, but in the future just know that you can definitely work on a newer patch. Some people use 1.31 which was the last patch before Reforged released and was fairly stable. The most recent Reforged patch is... it's stable but you'll want to make back-ups and take full advantage of it's "save as a folder" feature. You should be doing that anyway.

The thing is, the project I work on was started in 2014, not recently. It was abandoned for a long time due to lack of moral because of trigger and story issues. Only recently I had an idea that could make things work but since then, a lot of updates came out.

As for reforged, I loath the whole thing. It's an unfinished mess because the developer team was ghosted in the middle of their work. There's a reason people call it Warcraft 3 Refunded

If you're willing to share the model, adding the glow directly to the hero is very easy to do
It's not a single model, it's like half a dozen, not counting ones that I'll add to future maps of the campaign.

There's an Action for toggling the Minimap colors. Perhaps you can cycle through those to "wake up" the hero glows.

I seem to found a solution: since the glow apparently favors the original owner's color, so I initially gave the unit to the desired color's team then immediately changed it while retaining the color. That way, if I want a permanent red glow, I can just give the unit to team red then instantly change to the player's team. I don't know whether it will stay that way after map crossing though. It's not exactly the same unit as it was in the previous map, is it?
