help with variations

i cannot find out how to use variations with custom models. iv'e gotten a couple of doodads that say they have variations but when i make a custom doodad add variations and use the custom model it does not turn out with variations it just uses the first model please help and if you help ill give you +rep

I was under the impression that doodads using custom models could not use variations.

Hopefully, someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

You need to set the correct settings for the number of variations or it will bug

Just set the number of variations to the variations existing for the doodad

ive done that and it does nothing... but i have a new question becuase as Alpha said custom models cannot be variationed with doodads

i think the model's names need to be exactly the same but with 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and so on at the name, try 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, also, if that doesn't work

set "model - variations to the maximum number of the treewall like if you had

CustomTreeWall1.mdx
CustomTreeWall2.mdx
CustomTreeWall3.mdx
then there would be 3 variations.
