Odyssey Online Classic is a mid-evil styled, top-view, 2d online RPG originally released in the early mid-90s. It was the first game of it's kind to use the Visual Basics programming language for a successful online role playing game. Code Mallet has been controlling the server and the game's upkeep for over six years now.
16 years and still running strong!

The source code for the project was released back to the community in hopes that one day a successor will arise from an aspiring developer who understands the game similar to how the Classic branch itself was born.

Looking to start/join an RP. I guess it wouldn't be very productive to start one here. Where would I be able to do so?

I would join it if you made and interesting one. There are also some RP groups in this site. I'm sure Geries, Wazzz or someone knows more about them.

Aye, I keep checking back every once in a while.
As above really, if there was ever a half-decent role-play started that rivalled the old epics, then I'd - at the very least - consider joining it.

I think what damages roleplay in this forum the most is that it's not visible to people who aren't specifically looking for it. (Can't see it in new posts)

There's a good website just below here called RPdom. Below Ddayworld and right of SC2 modding.
