Do you mean they are at the wrong position ?

You can edit the button position at the ability entry,

In the object editor, there should be something like:
"Art - Button position X" or something. I forget exactly what it's called lol. There should be one for Y as well. I think there is also a separate X and Y for where the ability goes when you are learning it. It should be nearby as well.

For the position you want that one ability to go, you need X = 3 and Y = 0.
(0, 0) is the top left corner and it moves to the right and down as you increase each number.

Another issue that is likely to come up is when two buttons try to go into the same spot. They sort of push each other out of the way. So make sure each ability has the exact coordinates that it should have.

You need to look in the abilities tab. Changing it on the unit will change where they are when you select a building that can train that unit.

Ya you want the button position for when learning. I don't know exactly what the fields are called, but they should be different from the ones you see on units and other abilities (hero abilities will have both, though).

I think by x3, y2, he means Button Position (X) = 3 and Button Position (Y) = 2. It's just annoying to type all of that out lol.

However, I think you want x3, y0. It starts from the top for Y.

They are positioned using x and y coordinates. Did you find the correct fields? There are two sets. One for when you have the abilities and one for when you are learning them. Once you find them, just fiddle around with those to see what happens.

The problem, as people have already said, could be that you have not set up the ability button x and y fields correctly in the problematic ability entry of the ability section of the object editor.

If your problem is that they are correctly set but all hero learn ability buttons refuse to be positioned in that slot then you will need to post the map as there might be some unknown WC3 bug or other problem preventing the button from being positioned correctly.

Do be aware that using custom hotkeys will mess up command card button positioning. Make sure they are disabled in the WC3 options before testing (disable, close the game and then test).

The position for the skill in the UI where all the abilities and stuff use X and Y coordinates. They are not the same as terrain coordinates. I can give you screen shots, but it'll have to wait until I am home. That won't be for about 6 hours lol.

The answer is in the object editor on the abilities that are not in the right spot. I just can't tell you exactly where it is or what the field name is because I don't know them from memory. My map doesn't use hero abilities.

Object Editor -> Abilities tab -> your ability name

Here are the listings for the Paladin hero so that all his learn abilities are correctly positioned in his learn command card.
Holy Light
Art - Button Position - Research (X) -> 0
Art - Button Position - Research (Y) -> 0

Divine Shield
Art - Button Position - Research (X) -> 1
Art - Button Position - Research (Y) -> 0

Devotion Aura
Art - Button Position - Research (X) -> 2
Art - Button Position - Research (Y) -> 0

Resurrection
Art - Button Position - Research (X) -> 3
Art - Button Position - Research (Y) -> 0

The X and Y values of such fields represents the X and Y coordinate in the command card of units. Each coordinate represents one of the 12 button tiles (4 across and 3 down) of the command card. If the position is already in use by another ability in the unit's command card then a neighbouring tile of the command card will be used. Hero abilities have at least 2 entries per ability, one for the position of the ability button (where you use it) and another for the position of the learn button (where you learn it).

The top left is represented by...
X -> 0
Y -> 0

The bottom right is represented by...
X -> 3
Y -> 2

This gives you 12 different representable coordinates, the number of command card positions units have.

This man, this is what you change:

attachment.php

Set the X,Y like this to determine where you want the ability to show up in the command card.
(I think this chart is correct, please let me know If I need to change it)

Just make sure you are listening the this:

The X and Y values of such fields represents the X and Y coordinate in the command card of units. Each coordinate represents one of the 12 button tiles (4 across and 3 down) of the command card. If the position is already in use by another ability in the unit's command card then a neighbouring tile of the command card will be used. There are 12 boxes in the ability/command panel, 4 horizontal and 3 vertical
The position of each box is given by xy coordinates, from 0 to 3 for x (0=first column, 1= second column..) and 0 to 2 for y (0 top line, 1 mid lane, 2 bottom lane)

So, if you want your starfall to be on the top right it has to be x3 (fourth column) and y0 (upper lane)

-sry for my not so great eng
