Heavy Metal. Normal Or EVIL???

Lol. Sorry i just had to. Im sick of reading the newspaper and finding that some kid commited suicide so they blamed the music he listened to. That at a guy was accused of murder because he had a Metalica CD in his room.
So what are your views?

i do not see it as evil but i dont approve of ~*some*~ of the lyrics. i prefer lighter bands like kings of leon, red hot chili peppers (i saw them in concert last year!) and kasabian. i do not think people commit suicide due to the music they listen to but when someone is saying "death death, kill kill, sieg hiel" and similar down a microphone it can seem unessasary.

Has anyone heard of the song ( I think it is by led zepplin) called "stairway to heaven i think. Apparantly, If u play it backwards (the frist version of this song) on a record player, You hear a message to the devil. I have heard this but i think is just some scam made by someone who does not like the music.

. . . I don't really think Heavy Metal is such terrible music . . . if you want music that some people might kill themselves over, look at the hardcore rap songs. Heavy metal is like rock with more music and less talking. Rap is like a guy shouting out everything he hates about the world down a microphone with a cool beat in the background.

I don't know many people who would kill themselves over music . . .

But then again it still happens. People have to be pretty screwed up in the beginning to just commit suicide over hearing a song. More likely it was something else going on in that poor guys life that made him kill himself. I don't see why the prosection would try to pin the suicide on music . . . better to go for something more realistic like a family member dying, drug problems, or an abusive childhood.
