Sincerely... yes, i would like to reach that age... since it would be somewhat interesting to grow old and see the third generation which appears from your blood-line, starting with you. Although i would rather die if at such an age it would mean for me to go senile or ill...

About what would i do... well probably i would try to philosophize with someone else of my age... and obviously enjoy my last years around my great-grandchildren, not taking care of them... but seeing them once in a while.

Also... Kas, please understand that the one which you show in that picture is a unique creature... it's only one and that's the end. Others would be only copycats. But i doubt you can do something like that at 90+ years...

Really, am I the only one whose butt starts to itch when someone tries to estimate the average age of a great grandparent...

...and for some slanted reason lands on 97?

Way I see it, there are two topics you could cull from this trainwreck. "How old age affects you" and "Generations". That you mash them together with two short lines and expect to evoke a contemplative debate is why people keep sending shit your way.

I agree with you that the topic is not well organised... but you must understand that it's obvious... Kas never intended to invoke a contemplative discussion... just a mere "opinion" thread. And why not try to give him some opinions? It's merely a friendly talk, nothing more... We are in the Off-topic section after all.

My grandparents are 80 (or at least the one left alive is). My great-grandfather died thirty years ago, ten years before I was born, 70 years old.

A friend of mine's mother is 17 years older than him, and her mother is 20 years older than her again. My friend's great-grandmother is 82 years old. She was 60 when he was born.

Why am I mentioning this? You're assuming great-grandparents have a set age, but they are only a set generation above you. So what are you actually asking? If we'd want to become great-grandparents? Or if we'd like to live for more than 90 years? Or is it if we'd like to become great-grandparents at roughly the age of 90?
