Hi guys, I brought Starcraft yesterday but my computers just too crappy to play it, even with all setting at low I still lag alot, my graphics drivers up to date so think it must just be cos I have a realy old graphics card. Is anyone here good with computers and able to recomend a good graphics card?

I currently have:
ATI Radeon x1300/1550
Internal DAC 400mhz
memory: 512mb
display 1024x768 (34bit 60hz)

System:
Windows XP
Processor: Intel R Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz (2CPUs)
Memory 1022MB RAM

I recomend the Radeon HD 5770 or above. Its proven they can play it on ultra (Hardware Canucks). Rispetto I dont think you should get the 9800 GTX, because its old xD. I think the new generation is much better, because of DX 11. Just opinion. Also I think 140 for it is overpriced, not sure tho. I currently have the HD 5870M (Laptop), which performance wise is between 5750 and 5770 for desktops. It runs SC on ultra fine. Good luck to you guys :D

i have ATI Radeon x1300 for slim tower and i can play fine with some lag when there are lots of units on the screen.

I think the problem isnt your video card but your processor and RAM.

My specs are like Intel core duo 2.4 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Vista 32-bit, ATI Radeon x1300.

EDIT: i play with all settings on low 1024x768 res.
