alright this borrows off of ideas from the campaighn founding of durataur.
in the campaighn you had the hub and you had many areas branching off from that. in this you have the game map and every time 2 units enter the same "region" you load a region map, fight a battle, die, lose, go back to the hub, get REALLY pissed off, send all you're forces to that region, go to region map, kick his ass, go back to main map, get ass kicked, quit game in angry rage.
basically you have a game and the battles are decided in a different game.
so you have a game + maps inside a bigger game.
you would of course be using a lot of (forgot the name) save places thingies to store unit locations for the campaighn to pull up when appropriate but i think it might be possible.
