Gmax Basic Help

I have started Gmax. I want to make an easy model for training. I want to do an Orc Body. From the belt to the head. No arms. Just the muscles. How do i start. Witch tool shall i use? Shall i use a Box? Or a Sphare? Please explain how i start and how i make the shape of the Orc.
